Yep myself and Mike Bell will be representing stangbangerz in Pinks all out this weekend so keep an eye out for us. I wasn't going to make it after hurting the motor in my 86 but after some debate and encouragement from Mike and Holly I decided to take a car that I technically own so I meet the rules. Unfortunately its almost a sin to be racing this pig  Although it will be decked out with Vinny and Stangbangerz.com stickers. So anyone that's heading up to Norwalk and wants a little TV time hang out with the Stangbangerz crew. I've been told that the cameras will be all over us for bringing a car that was won on the show back to try again. :bigthumb I will be running it on the motor as long as Mike can tweak a little more power out of the big block. It made 435 with a 10:1 air fuel ratio. We are hoping for the 480-500 mark on the motor with some timing and jetting. Also we pulled the jets out of the nitrous side to discover it had 4 61 jets in the nitrous side which equals 400+HP on the spray  I ordered some 200 jets for it if we decide to spray it for all out.

Here she is

Also just for the record we needed some dyno numbers and track number to be able to sell the car so we figured what better way then to get it on TV again. The car will be listed on ebay when we get back from Norwalk I hope it brings good money. The mustang is shipping out tomorrow.

Good luck everybody!

I am not going to be able to make it up there. :( I am taking a half day vacation so my friend Auston can put a new pump on my pool (hose came loose from the pump in the storm the other day and the water ran out, burning up the pump), Tracy's (untamed) husband Paul came down at 10pm last night and got my AC up and running, IT wasn't working either (still needs rewired, but at least I have a cool home), and to top it all off, I was up for 2 hours last night with a stomach virus, throwing up, among other things, I will spare you the details.

I really wanted to go up there, but it's just not possible for me.

I'll be waiting for some texts to hear how everybody is doing!

Kelly - I'm rooting for you guy! I can't wait to hear what kinds of times you get out of the Camaro.

Holly

I talked to Kelly this morning, he said they had called the first 100 cars to the staging lanes, the Camaro was something like number 440.

He ran the Camaro last night, and it spun a bit, ran an 11.40 (that might not be exact but right around there), and 126 mph. They found a plug wire unplugged this morning, so he's hoping that he'll get a better time out of it this afternoon.

I'll post more when I know more.

***UPDATE*** Kelly just called, the Camaro is out. Something is not right with the transmission (ran a 12.0 this time, spun again). Mike Bell is getting ready to run, I'll post up his numbers in a bit.

Well all, I got back about 2am and it was a hell of a show. None of us made it in. It looked like the field was 10.00 to 10.20's, at least according to their first runs. They did it a little different this time thought. There were actually 32 cars in that range so they split them up, 16 and 16 and the first 16 had the spot and the second group had to try to knock the others out. Pretty cool. Also they did a "Nate's quick 8". It sucked none of us made it but it was an awesome show.

06-08-2008, 02:34 PM
On a side note, Mike will surely get somw camera time. I was behind him on his second run and the camera was all over that car. I would be willing to bet that more people checked out his car than the winner of the quick 8. The car looked awesome and ran good too.

We got home about midnight. They did it the same as the milan pinks all out last year that I ran at.Same bracket of cars and same format 16 cars and 16 trying for their spots.Even had one of the same racers in it I saw bobby sisco I think was his name.
I love norwalk and enjoy going there for Fun Ford weekend for the last 15 years but the pinks all out race this weekend ruined the whole Norwalk experience this weekend I think.
But it will be way better when we go back in july for the fun ford.

What do you mean?

Norwalk is my favorite track that I have raced at because the way its ran.Pinks crew did it there way and in my opinion is was a total cluster F%%% from the time we arrived Friday. They did well with getting all the cars ran saturday but they did well in milan also.Originally they were not going to allow camping on the summit sid of the track for racers and the people there seen how that worked out.
I will be going back for sure. But if Pinks is there again I will not do things how I did it this time.

PaulFiveOh

I imagine there are not too too many 'behind the scenes' people for Pinks leaving alot of logistics and planning up to just a couple people.

Good time, saw a few cars I recognized. No Chevys in the finals!!! Did anyone hear the status of the guy that was driving the 70 Mustang on Friday, hit the wall head on, and was air lifted out? I was talking to him like an hour before that. He was a super nice guy, beautiful car, he had owned it over 25 years. I was just wondering how he was doing.

Just the same tranny issue it had before. Steve thinks he knows whats up with it. We are going to get it out and he said he would fix it no problem. It went 7.07 at 97 in the 1/8th mile 1.91 60 spinning I would say its going to run mid-low 10's then someone can but the big jets in. The second pass I sprayed it out of the hole and it went 4.5 tenths faster in the 330  but I lifted when the tranny started acting up I coasted to a 12.00 at 68mph  We will get it fixed and get it sold now We just needed some times for the car before we listed it for sale. Also the second pass went the same ET in the 1/8th as the first but 20mph slower in the 1/8 since I lifted

Yes he was suppose to be released from the hospital on Saturday. His X-rays and CT scan came back negative for any broken bones or internal bleeding. They originally suspected he had a fractured leg and internal bleeding but turns out he had had no broken bones or bleeding internally. He was suppose to get his leg stitched up and monitored over night and be released.

You 'aint kidding. We sat over in Linder Lot from 9:00 till damn near 2:00 or maybe later. I didn't make my first pass 'till 8:00 Friday night and then I was up in the lanes talking with Kelly to make my 2nd pass and they cleared us all ot for storms that never showed up. Oh well overall I had a great time and I would definitely do it again.

It was a great time, but I agree it could have been organized way better. I didn't get any time trials in, and that is a shame because I drove all the way up there for that reason on Friday. Norwalk is still the best track in the country that I have experienced, but the Pinks crew kind of screwed it up. We got up next to the fence and were able to sit up on the roof and watch all the racing. My g/f and her son are hooked on top fuel stuff now, so we are going back up in three weeks to the nationals and see some friday night qualifying.
I can't wait to try pinks out again next year!
