Ibstrokin and Rick93Coupe and I rode to upstate New York for a four day trip on motorcycles. They are funny mo fo's. It was a nice trip with lots of laughs. We were all on sportbikes. They ran perfectly but are lacking in comfort. We stayed dry, but cold on Tuesday and Wednesday. Alexandria Bay, NY is a gorgeous and secluded area. The water that you see is the St. Lawrence river. The Chamber of Commerce for that area is www.alexbay.org .
I've included a few pictures for y'all:

It was a great ride, but tuesday we were riding in mid 40 degree weather. The weather kept us from riding more, but it was still a great adventure. I think we rode around 1400 miles in 4 days. Upper New York is really a cool place, I would recommend anyone take a trip. We went to Niagra Falls also, I was amazed by the amount of Indian people (dot not feathers), but still a great time.

I'll be heading south soon. Would like to go someplace I have never been too.
My old ZX9 rode good on long trips. Rick how did the Gixxer ride?

I was wearing a Vanson leather jacket with leather riding pants (made to zip together to make a two piece ridng suit). The other guys had were wearing jeans, one had a leather jacket (Ibstrokin), Rick was wearing a vented mesh jacket.
We all had full face helmets and gloves. I took some cold weather Alpinestars with two different liners plus vented gloves for warm days. I used all of my gear for a wide range of temperatures. We needed it! :)

Rick how did the Gixxer ride?
The gixxer rode great, I didn't have a single bit of trouble, aside from the cold temperatures I wasn't expecting. I just kept adding layers till it worked itself out.
Speaking of Gixxers, Rob and I did a couple of 4th gear runs and rumor has it that an 01 GSXR1000 does somewhere around 143 in 4th gear according to GPS.. =)
Surely thats not possible with the speed limit being 65.

I can neither confirm nor deny the accusation. ;) The rumor is actually 145, but who's counting? :D
These are the usual suspects. They also happen to be Customs Inspectors...

Why is it, that every time I make a goofy face in front of a camera, it ends up here:flipoff:
I'm going to have to get a new digi cam to get some payback.

Had the cold weather not slowed us down, we could have spent more time in the area. I'll have to go back sometime.

yeah i can see where that wouldn't be the most comfy ride....i think it's safe to say that you guys like to travel and now you HAVE to get a sport touring bike...like a Gixxer 1300...at least i would use that as an excuse to get one haha

I figured I would revive this thread. It's almost time to start planning this years ride. This time, I'm thinking SOUTH.

Yeah, I saw it. It was just him, Kid Rock, and a van full of cameramen.
The last time, we went north, and froze our butts off. So south may be a little nicer of a trip.

Hmm, any room for another Gixx 1k? I know mine rides sweet at a streched 68" wheelbase lol. As for the 4th gear 143mph, mine does it in 3rd easily with stock gearing he he he. Not stock by any means, but oh so reliable...
