The classic mini rocks! It is a fun ride!

Yep! The red brick one is St. Philomena. We were all over Clermont and Brown Counties yesterday. The first one is the chapel on Chatfield College/Ursulines of Brown County campus, very cool building! I really wanted some pics with the covered bridges, but we didn't get a chance, so we're going to have head out again sometime. Oh darn. :bigthumb

Little history lesson:

The area behind St. Philmena's property is where another church burned down like 40 years ago. Apparently, there is some sort of occult activity on that site above the church. IE: Some people call it "The Devil Church" (Not St. Philomenas, but the property directly above it)
I my self have been chased away from there in the dead of night, twice, by some dude in a truck.

According to the history plaque there was an original St. Philmena that was built out of logs but it burned down right before the turn of the century. The newer church was built in 1905

Hmmmm....What I have heard, is according to local Clermont County "Folklore"....it's the shit we all used to talk about back in junior high...

Who knows, your answer seems much more plausable than mine.

is that the one where you cross the creek over a concrete looking slab with no sides and there is a older bridge with a steel bottom.

Yep, that's the one, but I think there were sides on the newer bridge. It's off Stonelick Williams Corner, which is off SR 50. The current church at St. Philomenas was built in 1905 (maybe 1906, can't remember what the date stone said). There is also a covered bridge just around the corner from there which is rumored to be haunted. There's always urban legends associated with old historic places like that.

I was too, in the vert, but it was a damn hearse I passed at this house close to the church that I swear wouldn't run!

I'm not from the area but I just thought I'd share what the history marker had on it.....for some stupid reason stuff like that sticks to my brain but I have the hardest time remembering peoples names :tongue2:
