I am looking for ideas on a 4 day getaway 400-500 miles max drive that would be a good place to relax. I was thinking about Indiana Dunes lake Michigan but I am still looking up information. Anyone have any Ideas?

Personally, Gatlinburg is my favorite weekend getaway place. It's close and fairly cheap.

What sort of things are you wanting to do???

Gatlinburg is defiantly a great suggestion.
But going to Asheville North Carolina and staying at the Biltmore would be good too.

But all kind of depends on what you want to do while you are there.

Chicago is a lot fun, love that place. AJ and I were thinking of doing a 4-5 day trip to Nashville, should be a fun place. I REALLY want to go back to Charleston, SC, that is the best place to go and chill, but it is about 10 hours away. I like to go there for longer vacations.

Do you need your vacation spot to be near a racetrack?

No I think I will be back home a couple days before any race. Been to Put-InBay, Biltmore, and Gatlinburg. Chicago is cool but I want to relax. Nashville sounds interesting. Any other good ideas?

probably 'less bad' in a car vs a Truck\Trailer i really hated that & i was just a passenger.

Nashville sounds kind of neat........

Norris Lake is really nice if you want to do a lake. Holiday World rocks if you want to take my kids with you.

Nashville is killer..They have everything there....Everything is downtown. It's about 10x the size of downtown Cincy, but with 100x more things to do....

Rent a cabin with a hot tub in Hocking Hills, great hiking also. Contact blue hummingbird cabins, they are reasonable and have nice properties.

Hocking Hills is AWESOME. We are going there Memorial day weekend. It only takes about 2 hours to get there from Eastgate. I love it there. The waterfalls are beautiful. We rent a cabin at Ashridgecabins.com Check them out. Also I ran across this ad in the reach magazine. This looks really nice. Go to Sybaris.com That place would be a blast.

Gatlinburg is ok, but if you really want to just chill, go a little farther south. Like Cherokee. It's a dry county, so no night clubs, but you can take your own drinks. Lots of affordable cabins for rent too. I like to go there and explore all the "back roads", some require at least a small truck.
