Simple quick question...

If you max out the target at Target World it goes out 25 yards.

Using a pistol, a .45acp Model 1911, my friend was able to group 9 rounds in the area of LESS than 2.5 inches in diameter @ 25 yards.

The pistol has stock sights on it.

Is this above average, or even 'expert' as far as skill is concerned?

Paul, if Kitch was still there, she put on a shooting show for you. She was an "expert"

.22LR, one clip shooting normally, one clip shooting "gangsta" sideways style, then one holding the gun upside down using her pinky to pull the trigger.......and would have a tighter group that your buddies.

She also did western style shoots.

some girls are "natural shooters".
I have an 11 year old daughter that the first time shooting at clay birds, hit 19 out of 25!

My 13 year old son consistantly hits in the 22-24 range.

I wish I was as good as they are, when I was their age.

That is a great grouping for a stock 1911. You show me a target like that from 50 yards and then I will be really amazed. I usually can group about 3" at 25 and 6-7" at 50 with a Norinco 1911 copy, stock sites, stock grip. Good enough to make sure a 2-legged preditor gets stopped cold without fear of collateral destruction.

Sounds like Annie Oakley's been reincarnated!

Where's a photo of the target? :p

2.5" is very good. I usually put enough lead down range it becomes a large, ragged hole. No measuring for me.

And yes, my wife is a better shot, as long as she isn't afraid of the recoil. :(

Is there a range near that has a 50 yard distance?

The range at my farm is 150 yards. I could pace off 50 and set a target for you. May 31st.
