What would you recommend doing with the rearend with anticipation of running 700+rwhp? I saw a kit in 5.0 mag that you can buy to "make your stock 8.8 rearend bulletproof". Kit is like $900. Would you recommend that or building a 9"?

Weld the tubes to the Pumpkin, brace the rearend (several ways to do this), 31-33 spline axles, spool or locker, support cover, 9" ends welded on.

Andys car? Did they put the bigger tubes in this time like he was talking about?
My opinion it kinda depends on how much over 700hp you plan on going. A 9" ford is very strong in aftermarket form. My car still has an 8.8 9inch ends 33spline axles spool and is braced and it has not given me any problems going mid 9s- low10's Makes 600hp at the motor plus the go-go juice

I run an 8.8 on the bumper every run. Never skipped a beat after I welded the tubes, welded on a swarr bar and put 33 spline gun drilled axles that were star flanged. I also went to a 9" style driveshaft yoke and got a custom driveshaft with the larger ujoints to handle the torque.
