This will look very familiar to most of you.

I present to you Project Factory Stalker...

car seems to be right at home at Modular Depot.

After seeing Gene had it up for sale I felt obligated to take this poor lil guy home and keep it in the Dedpedal family. It is very dirty and needs some freshening up, but with a little elbow grease I think I can make it perform like it once did.
It is set up to run NMRA Factory Stock and could go out now and race, but would not be competitive. Rather than dump a bunch of money into it to update it to class race and push my Real Street project to the corner, I have decided to clean it up and keep it mild enough to drive on the street.
So I will have something fun to drive around in and keep my motivation alive to continue to work on the Orange car. I also plan on hitting a bunch of UMTR races with it and strapping Jennifer into it and teaching her how to race.

here we go...project car number two!

Be good to see the old gray beast back out on the track again. It should be a pretty solid foundation for what ever you want to do with it.

For some reason I've been diggin' the non-spoiler hatch look lately. Maybe because I don't see that look too much.

Thats the funniest thing Ive herd all damn day!!!!

Jennifer hun, if you want to help. get your ass down to the shop and start cleaning this dirty ass thing up...or start sanding on that "rusty cage".

lmao...good one Paul. :bigthumb

Timmah...expect a phone call from me. ;)

If someone would answer their phone when I called, (cough cough Matt) I would know whether or not you were at the shop.

You can work on your race car, and I will work on MY race car. Sound like a plan? We will have a battle royale to see who is at the track first this year.

Yeah, I know, I am reminded of that every morning when I get in my Charger and head to work, they sleep together in the garage every night. ;)

I can't afford to pay attention, yet alone put any money in that thing and race it. :( It's not like I can throw it on a trailer and head to the track, it needs "STUFF". Remember, the waste gates (is that right) are all phuqing phuqed up, it needs an alternator, it needs insurance, and wouldn't I have to get "certified" or something? Lots of money I don't have, bottom line.

But I'll be there to film and take pictures of Brown Girl going down the track, I can't wait to see that!

It's not like I can throw it on a trailer and head to the track, We know enough people with trailers

it needs "STUFF". Remember, the waste gates (is that right) are all phuqing phuqed up,We can get them sent off to Precision if need be. As far as tuning, Paul is familiar with Vinnys Stang and Im sure he would jump at the oppurtunity to tune it and I could donate shop time & Dyno time to go over the whole car to makes sure its safe.

it needs an alternator, Look at it, if its a Powermaster (which it should be) I can get that warrantied

it needs insurance, Not for racing;)

and wouldn't I have to get "certified" or something? Only if you go faster than 10.00...which it WILL once its tuned, but we can turn the boost down to where you are at ease with it

Lots of money I don't have, bottom line.Since Im not supporting Matt and Tim, Im sure I can round up some help in that area.;)

But I'll be there to film and take pictures of Brown Girl going down the track, I can't wait to see that! That will be cool when she busts Matthews Arse!!:bigthumb

Im sure we could dust off Greggs driving suit so he can make some shake down runs:bigthumb

Stopped in and saw the car today. Helped Matt get it on a lift and got to see the underbelly of the beast. Pretty rust free mostly. Has all the good stuff, and some stuff that could use some attention. Have fun with it Matt. It has a good home now.

I didn't have a lot of time to dedicate to working on the car this weekend, but I did get a little bit done. Friday and Sunday, I went down to the shop and started sanding away on the roll cage. I had to pull the dash out to get to the rest of the cage.(that'll be fun to put back) The cage didn't take as long as I expected. I am ready to tape it off, and spray some paint on it now.

I took all the old hood fasteners out and put new ones in, it looks way better. Matt was fast and furiously snipping away at wires, which I know nothing about. It is coming along a lot faster than I anticipated. I took some pics Friday night, but they are on Matt's camera. The car even got a bath Friday night. Next thing on the list, is get rid of all the rust on the floor boards, put some seam sealer down, and throw some carpet in it. Stay tuned...;)

Just a little update since Matt hasn't posted...

We painted half the cage
It has brand new carpet
It has seats
It has a 5 point harness
It has a dash

When I left work tonight, he had gone over the brakes, installed the flywheel/clutch, and the had the bellhousing, trans and ds sitting there next to it.

Looks like it will be ready for UMTR next weekend!

I guess I should update this thread.

Since getting the car a couple months ago I have made 3 UMTR races with it.
I never made any test passes in the car. Loaded it up and took it to Indy to debut it at the UMTR race and went low twelves out of the box. The car works good, and is easy and fun to drive. I couldnt ask for more in a play car. Kinda makes me want to put the orange car back to street duty with less than planned power.

Anyways, I made two 11.99 passes at 112mph in Clay City at the UMTR event and backed them up tonight at Edgewater with a respectable 11.96 @ 110mph.
The car is very consistent and is the perfect UMTR warrior. Now if I can just get consistent reaction times, I may go some rounds one day. :D
