Well I think I found the answer. A couple of years ago I did the PI swap on my car and at the time I installed BBk long tubes with an off-road h-pipe. Everything else was stock including the cat-back. With some tuning the car put down 260HP and 288 ft-lbs. Since then I installed a mac cat-back and I loved the sound. However, the wife has been complaining about the exhaust smell ever since I took the cats off. I can't get it out of the garage fast enough for her not to smell it. To make her happy I traded a guy I know for a bbk X-pipe with cats. I had it on the dyno yesterday and it appears that I lost 12 hp and gained 4 ft-lbs. I was a little shocked. I didn't expect to loose that much power. It's kind of a bummer but the wife is happy. To make myself feel better I think I am going to order a set of Centerline Telstars this week.
