I've got a MK8/cougar fan and I'd like to put it on my '88 5.0 car, how can I hook it up to come on automatically (and reliably) without the addition of any extra switches??

dc controller, or some other temperature controlled switch and relay. They work off of radiator temp or coolant temp.

What actually controls the turning on of the fan on a '94? is it the ECU?
