Anybody know the maximum amount of horsepower the stock fuel lines in a 89 lx will support. I just upgraded the fuel pump to the Holly 255 "intank", that directly replaces the stock one.

I dont know the max hp the stock lines will support but I have ran 10.20s N.A. with stock lines and a 255 in take pump.

Usually ~500rwhp is the limit for them if your running boost or a dry nitrous kit. You can get away with a bit more with a wet nitrous system. I made ~525rwhp/570rwtq on the dyno with my 347 on a 150 wet shot using only a 190lph intank pump and the stock lines/rails/30# inj. Fuel pressure started to drop off in the upper rpms...so I switched to a 255pump...fixed the pressure problem. It went a 10.21 at 130 with that setup.

That definitely answers my question. I was thinking about stroking the stock 302 to 333, adding a nice thumping cam, some misc. bolt on crap and maybe a vortech supercharger. Nothing to the extreme of what you guys are doing, although I would love too ( my wife would castrate me !!!) Can you guys recommend a good thumping cam that is still somewhat streetable? Thanks for answering my question !

If you have the money go with a custom cam... can't go wrong there.
