I've been doing nothing but work on this thing since I got out of the army 4 months ago. I tore out the interior and put in new black carpet, 2 corbeau racing seats, a rear seat delete kit, and styling bar. Then I moved on to the engine. I replaced the exhaust with cmt coated bassani equal length shorty headers, off road x-pipe, and SS cat back. the engine got 1.7 roller rockers, underdrive pulleys, polished ford racing valve covers, cobra intake, BBK 70mm Throttle body and cold air intake and a C&L mass air flow meter. I threw in a chrome alternator and some engine dress up while i was in there. when i was done the hood wouldnt close with the new intake and 1" phenolic spacer so i had to put on the 2000 cobra r hood i bought. I have a roadster cover and saleen body kit goin on it next week and im repainting it the original laser red. heres some pics of how its coming! i hope to have it done by the next stangbangerz cruise in cause i'd like to come out. sounds like a lot of fun!12465

I'll post the final body pics when i get it done this month. the body shop im going to is randy lanes auto body out in harrison. so far they have been great. they showed me around and introduced me to all their body and paint guys. we talked for about an hour and a half going over all the details. they're putting on the body kit, painting the mirrors and removing and filling the antenna hole, etc. Ed is a real nice guy and so far they are taking good care of me. they are the only body shop i found that would put on the body kit. i dont know why? After the engine and interior I just wanted to pay to have the body work done!!!

I bought the hood from cervinis for 470 I think. its a 2000 cobra R hood. i just didnt care for the mach hood or heat extractors. i wanted to beef up the front end a bit. thought about just doing a regular cowl but found this instead! The engine took me about 2 weeks to finish. My brother and i worked on it a day or two at a time. we ran into a few problems putting the 93 cobra intake on the 95. I had to buy a EGR spacer so get around the after market valve covers fill tube and with the elbow adapter we had 3 egr openings- 1 on the intake,1 on the spacer and 1 on the elbow. so we had to fabricate 2 block off plates. the cruise control wont fit in cause of how close it comes to the engine bay wall and we still had to modify the oil fill cap to get the throttle body sensor on. It was well worth the hassle though, cause it sounds great. I just need to get those 3:73s in now!

I am getting jealous.
So whats the HP gain for that engine work?

the 95 gt stock is 215 or 240 hp. im not sure what mine was. so lets just go with 215 to be conservative. the cobra intake is supposed to be good for 25-30, the pulleys 8-15, roller rockers 15-20, throttle body 8-15, cold air intake 10-12, and the C&L MAF is good for 8 hp. so thats 289-313 HP if they make as much power as they claim. and the 3:73s are are going in soon!!! which are said to knock off about a half a second in the quarter. ahell of a lot better than the stock 2:73s:( I can't wait to get it to the track but its going in the body shop on monday for a week or two. should be done by the next cruise in!:bigthumb

Looks great! How was it installing the equal length's? Im getting ready to install some BBK's and heard it can be a pain.

I had the headers put on just before doing all the actual engine work cause of the pain in the ass doing the rest of the exhaust was. I ran into trouble getting the bolts from the headers to the h pipe out, so i didnt screw with trying to get the headers off. it took the mechanics 6 hours to do it at the shop, so plan accordingly. it might not have been that bad if i had waited till i had the engine torn down though. your going to have to dissasemble a good amount of the intake to get good access to the headers from the top. its gonna be at least an all day affair! GOOD LUCK.
yeah i forgot about the exhaust. the x pipe is supposed to be good for at least 10 hp, the headers for 15-20 and the cat back for 10. so that should put me up to 324-353. I'd say that 325 would be a good guess for the real horsepower. I'd like to get it on a dyno to get the real stats.

I appreciate it bro! maybe we can fix that pulley situation while were at it. that should pretty much finish it up. except for the the gauges and the fuel pressure gauge on the rails. then we can make a run down at edgewater and i can get thrown out for runnin a 13 without a cage. one shot for a good time slip!!!:flipoff:

I'm getting excited about it now. im going to stop by and get some during pics to post up. finish the gears and pulleys and im done. i have to stop spending so much money.

yeah I'm really happy with how it turned out! Randy Lanes auto body did a great job with the body kit, welding the antennae hole, and just the body repairs in general! It took a little bit longer than I thought, but it was well worth the wait.:D
