Anyone work somewhere that regularly throws out empty wire spools? I'm looking for the smaller sized ones, about 6" to 8" diameter and 4" to 6" wide, plastic or metal is fine. I need about a dozen.

It seems like you can't buy these things w/o wire, and I already have a bunch of wire I want to put on spools, then I can put the spools on a rack.

I'll give you some money for your time and come pick them up. PM me or give me a call on my cell 919-3269. Thanks

Eric

What size of wire are you putting on them? I just threw some away today. Had 500' of 12 and 14g on each of them. I should be able to get them tomorrow if you want.

About that gauge, 10 through 18.

Dirtydog, how big are the welding wire spools?

Rixxx, I'm not that far south of Dayton. :)

They are the 35lb spools. I wrap my christmas lights on them and extension cords. They hold a 50ft extension cord pretty well.

That's probably a bit bigger than what I need. I'm looking for ones more in the 6~8" size range.

There is a business, on Paddock rd. south of the Norwood Lateral, that has spools free. I don't know what sizes they are, nor can I think of the name of the place.

I just thought that might spark someone else's thought, that could help.
