Last night on my way home around 1130 i was traveling north bound on 71 just south of mason montgomery. Up ahead is a car with its flashers on. I'm in the far right hand lane so i slide over to the left side of my lane to give them extra room. Just as i'm passing the car i see it. Those big eyes looking right at me then a loud thud. The car was parked right next to a deer that had been hit in the road. I smacked that thing hard. I'm guessing i put the final painful blow to it. Its head smashed into my bumper. I get home and check out the damage. Front bumper has bad spider cracks in the paint. Some deep scratches and lots of fur stuck in the cracks. My front tire also took a hard licking. The tire has a 6 inch line of fur stuck between the tire and rim. It also has a 12 inch crack in the sidewall along with some other deep cracks and cuts. This sucks. If the car had been parked a little farther behind with the lights on the deer i think i would have seen it. Instead they parked right next to it and had it hidden in the shadow of the car. I guess it could have been a lot worse off. I could have hit it with the middle of the bumper instead of with just the corner. Here to blowing money that could go to better things....like new rims, more power. Anything except a dead deer.

I hit a deer in my old F-150.I was going to the mall with a buddy,we were messin with the stereo.I looked up just in time to see the deer try to haul it across the street,it slipped and I smashed the hell outta it with the bumper.About 50MPH.I stopped, got out, looked at it,and me and my buddy threw it in the back of the pickup and took to my house to dress it out.I had a bent bumper.LOL

In Ky, if you hit a deer, insurance has to cover the repair 100%. Don't know if it is that way in ohio.

Its not. Will cost me 250 if i clam it. Thats not to bad. Going to drop it off tuesday and let the shop look at it before i decide on turning it in or not. Seen where i hit the deer. Looks like a few others got it also. About a 50 foot trail of blood and meat on the highway.

They have been grazing in my backyard lately. I take Pond Run up to 125, and every time, I see deer. I counted 11 in one spot the other night. I stopped in the middle of the road (no traffic on that road) and watched two of the babies playing, one kept nipping the other one on the butt and making him jump up in the air. They were amusing.
Their dead carcass's are everywhere on 52 (Vinny's ole drag strip).

Just picked up the car today. It looks great. Grand total for hitting a deer at 65 was only 537$. Not to bad. They just had to sand the paint and re paint. Have to give thanks to Fairfield auto and truck. They did a great job.

It's too bad you didn't know the body shop people real well. They could have gotten you some extra fun parts for free. lol.

thats the final blow that caused me to get a new paint job. I hit a beagle doin 70-75 mph on I-77 comin home from north carolina. the last thing i saw was his puppy dog eyes. he took out my fog light, cracked the bumper, and spewed blood all down the side of my car. little bastard was doing 5 mph in the fast lane! rest in peace little buddy.
