I have 2 cams in my garage to put in my car. One is an e-cam and the other is trickflow stg 1. Which one would be better for my setup? I have a systemax 2 intake, 42lb inj, twisted wedge heads(milled 40 thousands), novi 1000(10lbs of boost), bbk Shorty headers, off road x-pipe, stock short block and internals, c-4 with a 3200 stall. It has a 3:73 in it for now but I have a 3:55 to go in it when I put my 31 spline axles and carrier in it.

i would use the e cam and as far as using a x cam without mods to the pistions i dont think it can be done inless you got 550 lift springs and really think head gaskets

You need to buy another motor. If e-cams are junk why would you buy a b-cam which is smaller?

B is the junk cam.
Scott either can will make enough power to break what you are putting together. Power range on each is about the same anyway.

BTW I get real good gas mileage due to my E cam.

I always liked the e-cam. Has a nice sound and makes decent power in mild n/a or blower/turbo cars.

stage 1 with 1.7 rockers! no e cam.

my vote is the TFS stage 1, i've had both of them and the TFS stage 1 has better poewr in my opinion. put a set of 1.7 rr on there when you do the swap. i did it without the roller rockers at first and could tell some difference in the power but when i got my RR it was like nite and day difference

I honestly don't have personal experience with this, but I would guess that the TFS 1 cam would be slightly better, because of the bigger exhaust side. The F cam would be by far the best though, with the boost friendly 114 LSA.

Call comp or jegs and ask them what to do with your set up.

After looking it up, looks like the E cam has a 110 LSA and the TFS 1 has a 112 LSA.

the old e-cam NOT.... A good paper weight... jk Put the stage 1 in there for a Supercharged Engine.. 112cl vs a e-cam 110cl its not rocket science... Find a f-cam and sell both if your looking for a cheap cam.

I agree with you on that, I was just saying I don't think the e-cam deserves the bad rap it sometimes gets.

I have had good luck running e cams in my small builds, i think their a better cam than the B because they make good power throught a better rpm range than the B. Dont have much experience with the other cams besides motorsport and comp though.

I might have to run the e-cam because my car might have to much compresion. A buddy of mine was explaining to me why that cam is better on a higher compression motor.

Its not a bad cam at all, just not the best for his build of the 2 he has!
