2"x3" tubing

Who sells it and how much? I am going to replace my front frame rails with it. Don't need thick stuff. Strut tower thickness braced of course.

Any steel supplier out of the yellow pages should have what you need. BUT they may only have it in huge wall thicknesses, IE-over 3/16".

I've had luck buying stuff like that from Ackerman steel. You don't have to buy a whole length either. They are in Forrest Park. They should have exactly what you need in stock.

14 ga is slightly thicker than 1/16". I'd imagine that would work fine. It will certainly be heavier and stronger than what you're replacing though.

I have some 3"x3"x1/4 wall square tube. Or some 1 1/2 x 3"channel 1/4. And all the sheet metal you would ever need.

I think 1/4 inch is gonna be a little too big. I need aprox the thickness of the strut tower metal. I don't want to just burn through it trying to weld it together. The stuff I am getting is 14 guage. A hair thicker than 1/16th. I think that will be good. And for 30 bucks, can't beat it. I may take you up on the sheet though. I will let you know.

1/4" wall tubing fucking massive. Just for reference, most 9" rear ends built for 1000 hp have 1/4" wall axle tubes. It weights like eleventybillion pounds too, which would be retarded to use for your purpose.

Then you should know that saving $30 on some steel, while adding like 200 lbs of weight would cost him more in gas money from toting around some heavy ass tube over a years time. LOL :lol:

^ Ackerman steel usually has offcuts of sheet metal for cheap as well. They were my main supplier when I was building my car.

Keith everything i have here in the way of sheetmetal is 11 guage wich is 1/8" thickness.
