I'm looking at some parts that are anodized blue, and wondering if they can be anodized black? Any idea?

I believe you can anodize over it but it may have a funky look to it as anodizing is transparent. Eastwood company make a product that will remove anodizing. In fact I believe I've heard oven cleaner will remove it as well w/out harming the metal.

easyoff oven cleaner to be exact. Or send them to an anodizer and they can do it for you.

Does the easy off etch the metal? If not I can do that at the house and polish them, or have them done in black.

You must remove the old anodize before you can change the color.
It can be stripped off by the place doing the anodize.
Be careful if it's a close tollerance part, the dimensions can change a few thousands of an inch.
I get parts anodized all the time.
