Well I picked up a set of weld drag lites with MT ET drags mounted on them from someone on the board here back a couple of months ago. Everything looked legit and I bought them. Well I go to E20 this past Sunday and after my 1st pass at 14PSI the whole car felt like it was going to come apart on the big end the faster I went. So I dropped the pressure to 12PSI and that was no better. I knew the rear was going to move side to side on me a bit but this was an all together feeling. To rule out the car it self being the problem on the way home I ran it up to 120 out on the interstate and it rode like a cadillac. So I took the wheels up to the tire dealer up the street just before and had them throw them on the balancer and sure as shit one is bent. It looks like its up towards the bead. They say its about a 1/4 inch. Weight wise it was calling for 7.50 OZ. So I had them put some of the stick on weights on there. The other wheel appeared to be straight. It was however calling for 5.00 OZ. So I told them to throw it on that one also. So I am hoping Cliff Jacobs in Mt. Healthy can fix the one and if not, OHH F*CK ME live and learn the hard way.

Is those weights for wheels and tires or just the wheels bare?

I had them balanced with the slicks on the wheels.

Sounds familiar I just found out that one of my Bogarts was bent real bad. There is no amount of weight gonna smooth this thing out.

Have them remove the tires and check just the wheels. Alot of the imbalance could be the tires.

I've experimented with different pure rubber tube combinations and rotated the slicks around the wheel to find a spot that requires less weight to be added on my Pro Stocks.

What he said. In my experience, m/t slicks usually are not the most balanced tire compared to a radial. I bought brand new tires and wheels last year (draglites and m/t slicks.) Both wheels took between 7 and 5 ounces.

Sorry to hear that Steve. Its unfortunate there are dishonest people out there. Karma has away of returning favors. I am always leery about buying used stuff. Hope it all works out.

I had a set of ET streets that would not balance. I had the same feeling down track. I put DRs on the same rims and it went away. Im not a big fan of ET Streets from that experiance.

I just talk to Cliff and he said he could fix them. He acted like 7.50 and 5.00 wasn't nothing big for him to take care of. I mentioned to him that you could actually see the one wobbling a little on the balancer. He said bring 'em in and he will get it done in a day.

Yeah I was pretty charged to hear that. If the weather is nice Saturday I am going to go down to Tristate and try them out just to see how much of a difference there is since they have been balanced. If they dont walk around on me that much and the vibration and hopping is gone I might just run them that way for awhile before I go see Cliff.

Yeah I just seen that. So much for that idea. I am so sick of snow and rain.

Dont know why but my Et streets wondered all over Tri-State when I race there. I run the same exact setup at KK , National Trail and BG with no issue whatsoever.
