Props to the guys at Precision for doing the work! After the clutch is broken in the fun can begin.
This is on 93 pump gas.

Nice. What boost and timing are you running?
jdubya

It's running about 21psi at 19 degrees max timing on 93 pump.

Nice numbers! What size injectors are you running? and fuel pump?

That is defnitely a very interesting curve.
Excuse me for my ignorance: are you blown or turbocharged?

It's got a whipple on it.
I'm running 60# injectors and twin GT pumps.

Great #'s, That thing should be a blast to drive.
That's alot of boost for pump gas. May want to rethink that.

Yea, a lot of timing too with that boost and octane.

I thought 12:1 AFR was kind of high too.

Thats what I was thinking.

12.0 A/f is spot on, why would that be too high? I may run Torco in it just to be on the safe side when it's at the track.

12.0 is a bit high. 11.8 would be safer. It's just a matter of risk to reward really. Lean is mean. It's the same with the timing/boost/octane levels. You can always push the limits to make more power, or you can give up some power for longevity.
Basically, everyone who has a modified 03 Cobra is trying to tell you that your car is on the edge, including the guy who tuned most of them. You have lots of boost and timing with a non-conservative A/F ratio. You really need to back it down or run better fuel. Torco will probably work, it'll leave deposits in your engine though. I don't like Torco for that reason.
It could go forever in that state of tune, or it could nose over and start tapping on your first 1/4 mile pass. It's hard to say for sure. Depends on PTW clearances in the engine and how you drive it.

Get alky injection and no more worries, even make more power if desired. I picked up 2 degrees timing and 5 more psi boost in my SRT-4 with alky and 93 octane and had fewer knock counts (+38whp after timing & psi were turned up). Cheap, simple to install, acts as an intercooler (40 to 50 degrees cooler intake charge) and a nice cushion away from detination. Plain and simple, I'll never have another boosted car without Alky injection on it.
Just my $0.02
Actually IMO higher octane fuel is not really the answer. 21 psi is too much on a stock motor period. The octane will help the detonation you will most likely get at 21 psi and 19* but it will do nothing to keep the stock piston skirts from collapsing. Can you run 21 psi and not hurt it? Yes. How many Cobras out 100 will live at that level? If I had to guess 40-50. So this is a case of
"My buddies car lived at that level". I won't argue that. But I've tuned about 300+ Cobras in person and even more through the mail. I know what kills these things. Not trying to dog your setup, but you should be able to achieve those numbers on 18 psi anyway. That's the max I run the whipples at.

I dont personally know ken, But i know of him and know what he does, Take the advice and do that, You will still have same power just be a lil safer

Not a Ford guy, so no clue on physical capabilities of the internals, just was looking at the detonation angle, but if internals are the issue your right, alky will not help with too much power & pressure for the internal components. :bigthumb

Ken is one of the best tuners in the country on the cobras. I have read many article from other experienced tuners who have quoted Ken in their articles. I have spoke to many performance shops like Leathal , RWTD ect and mentioned that KenB was tuning my car and they ALL said he was one of the best. Not trying to swing from his balls but the guy knows his shit......:bigthumb He made 627rwhp with my cobra on 17lbs and pump gas( I do have cams) and 663 on 19lbs and 109.

12.0 AFR is also through a tailpipe sniffer correct? Does your car have cats?
