Stupid Leaky Stang

AARRGGHHH Got in the POS to go to work this morning, noticed what looked like a wet spot on the edge of the front seat. Didn't look too bad - carry on. AAAAAHHHH as I cruised down the road I realized what didn't look too bad was apparently the whole seat is wet (prior to my sitting on it, mind you). Now I am at work with my front seat my backseat wet! I hate this Fr@@**king car. We've not driven it much on the street before now so I guess we never realized it LEAKS.

I own 4 vehicles, why am I sitting here with a wet backside??? There is no justice in my world. God, I hope I don't get diaper rash!!! But to go home and change, I have to get back in the piece of sh*t and drive it again. Just can't do it. Maybe I should have left the keys in it and one of these high school kids would steal it...hhmmm One kid did tell me yesterday "nice car" LOL He must have been on drugs! Maybe I can find him again.....

I put plastic on the seat at lunch. Discovered the headliner is wet and the back of the driver seat as well. Damn rain! Damn car! Damn, damn, damn.

Does it have a sunroof? If so, many times the drain holes that run down the pillar get plugged up and will flood the interior. Mine would do it when I parked the car on a downhill.

I had a car that did this....
Very aggravating... I replaced the door seal and that helped....
I took it to a body shop friend of mine and he made some "adjustments"
and that solved it...

Here's an idea... Grab an old shirt and lay it over top the door
before you shut it so it'll absorb the water and keep it from dripping
on the seat... :bigthumb

No sunroof. Just got home, had less than a mile to drive and I was soaked clean thru. Bastard car! Damn rain!

Sometimes the window frame gets tweeked and allows mass amounts of water to leak in. My T top car is better sealed than my 88 GT. Do you hear alot of road noise and wind right behind your head while driving?

No, nothing different than what blows thru my head on a normal day! LOL

I had the same issue momma.
I used some 100% Silicon Caulk and made a nice bead where the weather stripping ends and it fixed the issue.

My 90 does the same thing, but mine gets both seats that way im not the only one with the wet backside. Gotta love it!

If you feel froggy, drive it over sometime and we can compare it against the 88.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds just like a problem I have with my leaky POS third gen Camaro with T-tops. It eventually started to leak around the windshield too. Plastic bags were in reserve when it was may daily driver.:lol:

Yeah, we're thinking it's around the windshield, not the door. Further investigation is needed!

Take a spray nozzle with compressed air and spray it around suspect areas while someone sits inside and listens for the sound of air rushing thru.

:wstupid: My dad and I had to do this with my saturn. One time it rained so hard that I had a small pond in my back floorboard, it took forever to dry out. I feel your pain, but once you find the leak you will be fine and dry!
