I guess Im in one of those funks (hangover) again. Anyways, I opened the fridge and took out anything that looked remotely appetizing. I ended up with 2 eggs over easy with Belizian Habernero salsa, 3 slices of Spicy goetta, 6 thick slices of fried bacon and a Goobers n Grape sandwich ( to nibble while everything else fried).
I cant wait till LUNCH!

She closes, so most of the air biscuits will be wasted.

Close but not quite. Its sausage, pinhead oats (thats important) sometimes some ground beef, onion and whatever else the cook tosses in. Kind if like the vegatable soup of breakfast. I like it fried crispy on the outside but soft and gooey inside. Some like it sliced thin and fried to a crisp.

Goetta is a peasant food of German origin that is popular in the greater Cincinnati area (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cincinnati/Northern_Kentucky_metropolitan_area). It is primarily composed of ground meat and oats. Pronounced gétt-aa, ged-da or get-uh Americanized Pronunciation (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Americanized_Pronunciation&action=edit), this dish originated with German (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany) settlers from the northwestern regions of Oldenburg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldenburg), Hannover (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hannover), and Westphalia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westphalia) who emigrated to the Cincinnati area in the 19th century. The word "Goetta" comes from the Low German (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low_German) word götte.
Goetta was originally a peasant dish, meant to stretch out servings of meat over several meals to conserve money.
The modern popularity of goetta in Cincinnati has led to it being called "Cincinnati Caviar".

GOETTA (Crock Pot)
5 c. water
2 1/2 c. pinhead or steel cut oats
3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp sage
1 lg. onion, finely chopped
1 lb. ground pork
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. or 1 cube beef bouillon
3 bay leaves
Put into crock pot: water, oats, salt and pepper; mix. Cover. Cook 1 1/2 hours on high. Add remaining ingredients; mix. Cook 5 hours on low, covered. Remove bay leaves stir a few times. Remove cover. Cook 30 minutes more. Stir a few times. Spoon into loaf pan. Cool. Refrigerate. Slice and fry (in bacon grease). Makes 20 servings.

^covering my eyes for that info...but stealing the crock pot receipe!! It's getting expensive to buy. Hey, we feed a family of 5 that eats like 10!
Oh and crispy outside..soft inside is the only way to go!!
