I'm going tomorrow to most likely purchase that car.
I've done all my own research and made my decision based off of it, but now that I've decided, I'm curious what you guys think in terms of reliability and performance etc Esp. Beefcake.

Looks pretty clean. The maintenance on most many luxury cars is covered by the manufacturer for the first 50k miles or so,so reliablility and upkeep aren't usually a problem. That's a 7 year old Bmw with over 100 on the clock. Black book is probably around 7k. With how soft the used car market is you can pick it up for less. In the same price/mileage range their is a Quattro audi on RT 4 near SITE food mart. Good luck with the purchase.

I have an 2001 Audi A4 Avant Quattro for sale. It only has 73,000 miles, fully loaded, and I am asking less than than that BMW there.
Also it has a full Koni Coilover suspension that teamed with Audis Quattro system which is far superior to BMWs AWD setup. It's wicked ride in the turns.

Just a thought if you were looking for options

Dont let any BMW guy's hear you call it a beamer.Its BIMMER.They get all pissed off.beamer is BMW's motorcycle's.And on a car that age,they came with aluminum radiators with the plastic endcaps,they dont last long.And upgrades area, about rediculously priced.

I love the way they look, the way the handle, and the overall driving expeirance is great.

I work part time at a european repair shop, and I see my share of bmw's. They are pretty dependable, and I see alot of them with 200,000+ miles still running strong. The only euro cars I would advise against buying are jaguars(especially mid 90's and older), and land rovers. Both are overengineered pieces of crap!

I've got an 02 325Ci, had since November. The only complaint I have about it is the fancy ass windows like to freeze. They shoot up or down when the door is opened/closed about a centimeter, and when it's frozen (in the up position) the door won't close all the way, interior light stays on, blah blah. Not hard to crack the ice with some well placed blows to the window, but a PITA nonetheless.

Otherwise, it's perfect. Comfortable, reliable (so far) good ride quality, plenty enough power to blow past a soccer mom on her cell phone talking about shoes and hair and dumb shit, and great radio if that one has the Harmon Kardon system.

I also never plan to mod a single piece of anything on the car other than maybe window tint, I just really can't see any reason for it? So if you've got that mindset, you should enjoy the car.

Do your research on Audi Maintenance. Being an Audi owner and having owned a bunch know what your getting into. They aren't cheap cars in the long run. With that being said I do love me some Audi. :)

My bother is a service manager for MAG in Columbus at their BWM dealership.

Best advise I can give you, be prepared to part with large portions of your money on a semi-regular basis. If you are OK with that, BMW's are great cars.

My brother drives 98 318i with 265,000 miles on it. It's still in great shape overall. Of course, it was owned by a BWM tech and was maintained better than probably any 1998 318i in the whole state. It's had the radiator/water pump/hoses replaced twice already. The control arm bushings were shot at 100,000 miles, they were replaced, but need it again. It still going on it's orginal engine and trans.

I used to wonder about Jaguar and how they could make any money. Then a guy I work with was telling a story about one of our clients pulling up on a job site in his black Jag. He mentioned offhand, "Jews don't like German cars, ya know". Ding! It had never crossed my mind until that day- that's why Jag is still alive. They have nothing that can touch what BMW, Lexus, and Audi produce, yet they contiune to march along year after year. Only spite (and rightful spite at that!!!) has kept them around.

Oh, and for the record, I'm not Jewish, I'm not anything, I don't care about religion at all. Which is why I never saw the connection I guess.

I have to tell you that alot of Countrys in Europe still have some very bad fellings for Germans. I never thought of that connection either.

What i dont get on the BMW's,is the majority of them still have a clutch fan.Works great,but the electric fan is way better.Usually the interior starts saggin way before it's time,and like I said before,aftermarket parts are extremely expensive.And dealer visits are rediculous.Handle well,but i would go with the Audi.Turbo on top of that.
