Is there any difference between the strengh of a 4 cyl t-5 and a v-8 t-5.

yes im not sure how much , the input shaft is smaller on one also so you git to chang something else too im not sure

the shaft is smaller on the 4cyl so you need the proper pilot bearing for it to work. One of a dodge truck is what i have on mine. Came with the trans. first gear is a little longer I think but everything else is pretty much the same. There are quite a few guys running a 4cyl T5 and having just as much luck as the guy running a V8 one. Its all in how you drive.

You should know the difference between an auto and a T5, but since you gave me a great deal on that TV, Ill give you an idea. If you know the size of the input shaft (length and diameter) you can tell. A four cyl T5 is longer and thinner (much like comparing me against my friends) against a V8 T5 that is shorter and thicker. exactly what kevin said...

Ive heard that the turbo 4cyl t-5 is stronger than the v-8 t-5 because the turbo motors put out more torque. The pilot bearing that you have to use to put the 4cyl tranny behind a v-8 is a timken part # 202FF

Is there a difference between the throw out bearing and the clutch fork of a 4cyl tranny and a v8 5 speed? just curious im thinking about using my 4 cyl tranny...

no there is not they use the same as far as I know..
