Keep the racing at the track and you don't have to worry about it. Stoplight to stoplight runs are fun but rarely see more than 50mph. At over 100, you could do some real damage and or kill people.

I would follow the reccomended procedure to avoid "Blue Light Bandits" It might piss the officer off aa bit, but better than being robbed by someone impersonating an officer.
