Sorry didnt know where to put this. :o

I have 02 bulleit rims 17x8 with 245/45 tires on them now, I am going to get 17x10 rims with 245/45 tires that I want to replace. My question is would my tires I have now fit the new rims? Sorry if this is stupid but I know nothing about tires/wheels

315/35s will fit but bulge a little. a 245/45 on a 10" rim is probably too small and wouldn't look right. I would wait to you can get the bigger tires for the rims.

You could go with 275/40/17.

OK thanks guys (even though now I have to buy new tires) also Ive been told that 17x10's on fronts is pretty wide. Im not sure if all four that I am buying are 17x10 (sent email to ask) but if they are is that going to work I have just been told that is wide for fronts thats all?

I don't know that 17x10's will fit on the front. Typically the widest wheel you see on the front of a mustang is a 9 inch wide wheel.

any body agree of disagree with cstreu1026............Im suppose to buy these this week end. they are all 17x10's

Should I still or not??????

F#@k I thought i was all set on getting some rims

17X9s up front are perfect. Any bigger and your asking for trouble. The 17X10s in the back will grab the grooves in the road enough.

jaystang44
02-15-2008, 11:42 AM
So your saying I shouldnt buy these with 17x10 all the way around

bobtsgt
02-15-2008, 12:33 PM
most people do 17X9s up front and 17X10s out back. They fit well and looks very nice. Thats what I had on my car and they were perfect.

02-15-2008, 12:44 PM
so bluecrew07 you have 18x10 all the way around? No rubbing wheel wells or anything?

bobtsgt
02-15-2008, 01:22 PM
no he has 18X10s in the back only.

jaystang44

well the guy Im trying to buy them from said he took them off his 01 and they never rubbed. So I dont know what to do. the price he is giving me is awsome but I would have to drive to nashville to get them. I have someone else ready to buy my rims and they want them now and their giving me an awsome price! my car is my DD so I cannt have it with out wheels for more then a day and that would have to be on the weekend. I have no other car to drive to work.

What the Hell should I do?

No i have 18x10 in the back. 10 in the front are too big. wouldnt be able to turn very well. Plus when you go for the Staggerd (sp) look it just gives the car a little extra something..

I would try to find a buddy who has a spare set of rims and tires for you. I'd loan you a set but I don't have any left. have you looked at the wheels on americanmuscle.com

My car is lowered 2 inches and I am running 18x10 wheels with 305-35-18 tires in the rear and 18x9 wheels with 275-35-18 tires in the front. I did have to roll my rear fenders because I was slicing up the side walls... I want to try a 315 in the rear so bad since I rolled the fenders but im wondering if a 10 inch wide rim is to narrow for that tire size...and of course I would have to ditch my quad shocks with a tire that big.

Yes a 10in would be too small. would at least need to be 10.5in

yea i am trying to get a set of rims with tires. and the prices im looking for I can only find going though a private seller so brand new is not a option right now. any body selling or know someone selling rims and tires right now? or just rims if they are 17x8. Im looking for chrome anything.

Jay: I don't recommend 10" for the front. They will stick out of your fender more than you would like I'm sure, and the effect on turning and "tracking" in the ruts on the highway are extreme.

Follow what everyone is saying - 10" on the back, 9" on the front and you will be a happy camper!

www.Tirerack.com has good prices as well as Gene Evan Ford Racing (www.gefracing.com)

yea I backed out. but damn you cannt beat the price he was offering.

Thanks guys I trust you all more over what he says any day

lol sounds like some lies were told

jaystang44
02-15-2008, 03:19 PM
lies where told for sure and I told him if I found someone to trade two 17x10 for 17x9 id buy them from him but for now I told him Im out.

Well, either he was lying or he really just doesnt know what he talking about when he says 17x10's bc his ad and what he had told me was that the tires are 245/45 and from what ive heard and seen those wont even fit a 10" so IDK

You think he messured the tires and not the rims width? could the tires on the rims meassure to 10" on 17x9 rims? (wouldnt that make sence) because the tire are on them and he does sound like a mentally handy cap person and Im sure he messured them.

Most rims say on the inside what the size is. and if not then it needs to be taken to a tire place to get the correct size. there is a tool that measures the rim size. you cant just take a tape measure or something and measure it.

bobtsgt
02-15-2008, 04:30 PM
I've always used a tape for width and back space measuring. Plus looking at them you could probably tell the size. Do you have a picture of the wheels in question?

Those are 95' Cobra R's. Definitely 17x9's. 245/45/17's do fit, but it stretches the tires too much, IMO. One companies 245/45/17's aren't necessarily the same as the next companies. Not a huge fan of those wheels on anything 99+. They just look too small for my tastes.

I had 17 X 9.5" Forgelines on front and 17 X 11" on the rear.
I had them on my 01 cobra, 03 Cobra and my wifes 2001 GT.
The fit fine.
245's are to small for a 10' rim
You could put 275's 285's and even 315's on a 10" rim
call me. if you have any quwstions.

those are 17X9s all the way. Like James said the tires shrink in looking stupid. A 275/45 fills a 17X9 pretty well.

275's come stock on a 17 X 9" rim on all 4 corners of the 03/04 Cobras.

yes they did

So you guys sure they are 17x9's by looking at them. I think they are cobra knock offs

The are 1995 Cobra R replicas. 17X9 I have a set myself.
