My new project "2-Tone Terror"

Well for my next project car I've been wanting more of a all around street car. I want good looks' something comfortable' good audio system' handles well' stops well' and runs some where in the high 10's for around 10'000 bucks total. So far whats been done to the car is a full Steeda suspension' SN-95 brakes on four corners' KYB shocks and struts' polly bushings from front to back. The car has 4.10 gears' FMS driveshaft' Pro 5.0 shifter' and some minor bolt on's. I just picked up some 03 cobra 10th aniversary wheels with some drag radials. What we are currently working on is the audio system. It consists of POLK comp. set with crossovers, JL 5x7's in the deck, 10"JL sub with Xplod 1000 watt amp and a Xplod 250 watt amp to power everything, and a Panosonic touch screen head unit. Should sound pretty good. Ive been picking up some stuff here and there to start putting a decent engine combo together. Here is some pics of the car at its current state.

Here is an update on what has been done so far. Weve installed the new exhaust which consists of Mac 1 3/4 long tubes' Dr gas 3 inch x-pipe and Borla XR-1 race mufflers. It sounds wicked! I picked up a set of World Prod. windsor jr heads from Jeff and a Anderson b-4 blower cam from Brian. I installed a set of double adjustable uppers the other day. And here is some pics of the disk brake swap once it was done, still need get it all painted up. Next thing i want to do is change the pin stripe to a more neutral color, smoked head lights and window tint.

Well i got the calipers painted tonight. I used dupli-colors brake caliper paint kit. It seems to be a nice kit. Still need to black out the wheel wells and clean up the over spray.

Heres an update. I havent been able to do alot on the car here lately do to so much going on in my personal life. But there has been a little progress. First, I got the wheels and tires in the car, Put on some stainless hood pins, And got the car pinstriped by a buddy of mine. I did stay with the orange but went more with a burnt orange. I think it looks pretty cool.:cool1:

Update time. Im starting back on the coupe so here is some pics of parts I ve been getting. 91BOOST came over and did the final buff on the paint and it came out awesome. I started to pull the motor apart to detail and paint the engine bay and get it ready for the PROCHARGER install this week. YES I SAID PROCHARGER!!!!!. I also have the car ready for the c-4 install. It is a Art Car that has been pasted around a few of the Mafia members over the years LOL. It has a PA rev man valve body with brake, 9.5 Coan converter and all the other goodies you need for a well built c-4. Im also picked up a new 3g alternater for to do the conversion and a Anderson b-4 blower cam. Ill add some more pics later this week as the I make some progress. All I have left to buy is a set of injectors and a meter then off for a tune:D

Well we made some progress on the coupe and my 86 GT tonight. We got the Blower bolted on and the 3-g alt conversion done. I would like to Thank my buddies (91boost, Chad393na, Ibstrokin, Replicobra and 89notch) for coming over and wrenching tonight. I should have both cars out and running later this coming week. Well alot got done today. Brian came over and did some wiring and did some I button up work under the hood. We got all the gauges in, wide band, Trans brake hooked up, Elec fan and tuned on the motor for a while. Believe it or not the thing runs pretty damn good for not having a tune. The coolest part is I got to take it a drive today and it felt great. Heres some new pics.:bounce:

It's an elec guage, there is something up with it that we will have to sort out, we could touch the radiator and it was barely warm, so it was no where near that hot. It did have us concerned for a little bit.

I also forgot, we instlled a ATI Super Dampner. Its a super nice piece. Thanks Mr Johnson! I got some interior stuff done last night. So should have the interior buttoned up tonight. Im also going to have a new discharge pipe made and a power pipe in the next week or so. I post some pics once its done,:)

Made a little more progress tonight. Nothing to exciting, I made the trim piece for my shifter, installed a new ashtray door and repair kit. Tomarrow im goin to install my cross drilled rotors and new pads. Ill get some new pics tomarrow.:D

Well i got the windows tinted today and it looks awesome. My good buddy VictoryFab made me one of his sheet metal wings last week and it a super nice piece ( Thanks Ray you da man). I decided to have the wing painted black to match the 2-tone. Its currently at 91boosts house getting painted. Thats it for now Ill try to get up some new pics tomarrow of the window tint.

Well my whole out look has changed for what I wanted this car to do over the past couple of months. So I sold the disk brake rearend, the Cobra wheels, and the the handling suspen parts. Im still on a tight budget but Ive been picking up parts here lately to turn this car into another drag based car. So far I ve picked up a fully built rear end with Moser 31spline axels, c-clip elems, spool, 3.73 gears, welded axel tubes, rear end girdle and spherical bushings. I also picked up Moroso trick srings for the rear, Lakewood drag shock and struts, Wild rides chrome moly double adjustable upper and lower control arms, Flaming river manual rack, Tricked out GT-40 heads (they were cheap), Billet timing set, Anderson Blower cam, 60lb injectors with a P-MAS blow through meter and the list goes on. Im planning on hitting this this pretty hard over the next few weeks. I hope to buy my wheels and tires after Christmas. This thing is going on a MAJOR diet over the winter. So how fast can a Gt-40 headed stock short block with a fair amount of boost getting crammed down its throat will go? We will see this spring.:D

Yeah they should work for awhile. But Im hoping to start build a nice motor over the next year. Im just wanting to have decent power for now. I know the short block prob wont last long. OK I guess I'm back on this thing.( I Guess the new wheels have me motivated) I have had a decent little 306 on the engine stand for a couple years now so I have decided to go through it and drop it into the coupe. It went mid 12's N/A in my 86 gt. So today I pulled it all apart and checked all the bearings and replaced all seals and got it painted. So tomorrow Ill go through the heads and check them out.

So here is the current engine setup

306 10.1cr
Fresh GT-40p heads with a little work
x-cam
frpp 1.6 rockers
Either a performer intake or a track heat I have them both and cant decide
30lb injectors and meter
70mm T/B
Mac long tubes
MSD ignition
and maybe a little spray (which I haven't bought yet)

Over the winter I put in a fully built rear end with Moser 31sp axles, c-elim, spool and 4.10 gears. So there's my update. Ill get some pics of the motor tomorrow.

No it was Todd Dennis's old real street car. He had the car for at least ten years and raced it in the NMRA. The car is now somewhere in Indiana.

Update: Well Ive ran into a string of bad luck this week. Starting with the rear end, I bought the rear end used and basically bolted it into the car with out checking it out. We changed the gear oil but never checked anything else. When I started driving the car the rear end had a whine to it that got worse, so we pulled it apart to everything in it was a mess. The gear was wore out due to a improper install resulting in gear being junk. All the bearings were shot so we went through it and put in a new gear. Ive had a problem with the car not keeping a charge and traced it down to the MSD box. So now its junk. So my motor build is on hold until I can get some more cash. So this morning I started doing a little weight reduction, Dog bone on the rear end, 15 lbs, all the cruise control stuff 4lbs and (empty) washer res and hoses 2 lbs. And Im sure ill take some more out.

Well Ive gone back to my roots (turbo). So Im getting back on the car again. I took my oil pan over to my buddys house today so he could weld on my oil drain. I made a t for my oil supply and oil pressure gauge and installed a Felpro 1 piece pan gasket. Put the heads on with ARP head bolts. and installed the rockers and 1 piece TFS pushrods. And hit it with a coat of black paint. I hope to get the motor out of the coupe next weekend and drop in the 306.

LMAO!!! If you only knew how little money is in this thing you would shit. So far the only new parts (beside the usual gaskets, plugs and oil) on the car are the 3g alt and the PMAS meter. Everything else is second hand.:)

i looked at a B&G the other day. the guy sent me like 100 pics of their stage 2 kit on a GT. and i'm not gonna lie, a mid frame 88 is huge in a fox engine bay. lol

Tonight didn't go as well as I planned. I forgot how long it take to fab up a cold side but doing it at least 50 different ways I liked this way the best. I also picked up a super nice turboblanket today and test fitted it. It should protect my alternator pretty good. Now tomarrow I will pull it all apart and mount the inter cooler and drop off my cold side to be welded.

Well Ive done a little bit on the car. Nothing to exciting. I sent the IC piping out to get welded. My buddy made me a stainless upper rad hose that looks pretty sweet, painted the dizzy and dropped it in, plugs and wires all on. I still have a few more things to do. Pics tomarrow.

Tonight Brian and I knocked out a ton of little stuff. I installed the turbo blanket (PITA), Locked down all the hot side, wrapped the down pipe, Made the hangers for the inter cooler, installed the oil feed and drain lines, and primed the oiling system to check for leaks. So all I have left to do is get a belt, install the MSD 6AL, and install the cold side which might take a couple weeks due to the guy who is welding it is pretty busy.

Im still waiting on my intercooler piping. I got some spark plug boot protectors from Cincy this week and put them on, I picked up a set or Wolfe adjustable lower control arms from Tino so I might get them on tomarrow. I got all the vacum lines and the boost controler hooked up. Im going to make a bracket to fit on my console for my LM-1 wide band tonight. I cant wait to hear this thing run.
