cd player!

i bought a cd player and i am having one big problem with it...everything is hooked up right its grounded i get power and then a pop from the speakers but thats it nothing else...

what gives...ive been told to look for a factory amp! ive looked and i cant find it!!!!


electrical truly dose own me :(

i cant get any sound from the speakers either on radio or cd!

Mustangs can be tricky to put cd players in, Most fox bodies do have amps. Did you use a wiring harness that wires between the cd player and the factory harness. Make sure you used the blue remote on wire from the cd player to the corresponding wire int he adapter harness. Also make sure the ground on the factory harness actually has a wire in it( on the factory side.

cd player is a kenwood KDC-135

have tha harness twisted together and then electircal tape around it till i figure out whats up before i go crimping them all together!

yeah i did, ive tried using all 3 wires that the harness said was not used and still nonthing.( i even read the directions :lol: and i have it hooked up right from what it says...ive tried different grounds..i get a pop when i plug the headunit in, but nonthing else after that

if i dont get it soon im just gonna completly re wire it...power ground and then speakers. :( but id rather not have to...

Take another pic of the harness's ( both black and grey)in the car with your thumb further away from the plug. I may be able to help figure something out for you.

It's not factory amp'd, because you have 8 wires on the spkr plug and there is no wire for the amp on the factory side of the power plug. Try plugging in your antenna, if it plays with the antenna plugged in and wont with it unplugged, then you have a ground problem. This should be a very straight forward install (because of no amp). Make sure your ground is good. If that still doesn't work, you may have a bad radio.

If you have a ohm meter, you may want to check each pr of wires ( blk plug ) and make sure each spkr is between 4-8 ohms.

Actually your factory power plug is missing a constant power lead, if you plug the 2 grey plugs together you'll notice there is no wire in the factory plug opposite the yellow wire of the new harness.

ok so no factory amp, ive tried it with them wires to a power as well and still nonthing, this is the 2nd headunit. crutchfeild sent a second one out to me.
