Im doing this in my 94 gt. I have a good ground ran and the positive ran to the starter selinoid thingy on the fire wall. But when i turn the key on the on position a loud buzzing sound occurs so something isnt right. The car will turn over while its doing this but wont start I know its not the ground so what could be causing this with the positive wire?!?

2 things I would try first:

1: Find a a better ground, get your grinder out and grind off a layer around the hole for the ground bolt.

2: Make sure all your + connections are firm and secure, and make sure your remote solenoid is all hooked up right

Make sure your ground is the same size as the other wire. I know that can create some issues.

I know I had issues with my GT when I had the battery in trunk. Turned out the ground wasn't as good as I thought, so I ran a ground all the way back up to block. Fixed all my issues.

I usually run a ground strap from the motor to the frame somewhere...perferbly as close to the starter as possible..and then a good ground location in back..

Run the ground from the battery all the way to the original ground position on the moter. Run another from the block to the frame. Make sur eyour computer harness ground is still intact. You can do a quick and easy test by running a jumper cable from the block to a good ground and see if that fixes it.

now when you say block to frame does i matter where it is? or does it have to be where the original ground is on the block to frame as well as battery to there? sorry im a rook on wiring

I always do three.

Battery to frame
body / firewall to frame
engine to frame

Grounds? All you need is one from the block to the chass. then battery to the floor or frame in the trunk..... no since waisting the money running ground wire from front to back. Also the shorter the ground the better, longer wire= more resistance= not so good of ground. Elec takes the shortest path to ground. Also make sure you are not running any current through the ground. Via a short! Your power wire may be cut/grounding out on the chassi. Depending on where you routed the wiring.
