Anyone around here done this? I have a 90 Ranger that had a 2.9L v6 that is now toast (Looked like a nascar blowup going down the highway), but I have a 90 f150 5.0 in the garage. How hard is this swap? What kind of trans will I need, because I know the ranger 4x4 trans will not hold up to the extra power. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Rodney

I had one for a while, I did not do the swap though. It looked fairly straightforeward... it was a non-roller 302 with a C4 behind it. Oil filter has to be relocated, and it had cheap shorty headers on it. They looked like fox-body headers, but I could not swear to it. I believe it had an early fox-body radiator in it.

It all depends on how fancy you want to make it. Do you want to leave it EFI? Automatic or stick? Most of the key components needed are pretty expensive. The way you talk I'm assuming its a 4wd? It can be done, but its not as easy or cheap as most people think. At least...to do it right. Most of what you need to know can be found on here...

yes leave it 4wd...stick or auto doesn't matter to me.
Thanks for the info. It is greatly appreciated.
