thinking about get one of these kits for my 93 coupe. the 3 im looking at are trick flow, holley sytemax, or ford racing. which ones do you guys like. thanks

The trick flow heads I believe require valve reliefs or specificly notched pistons.Im pretty sure that some one on here know's for sure.But if its goin in a built engine then the pistons are notched,and you shouldnt have to worry.

The tfs heads will clear stock pistons, even w/a 2.02 valve, duration may come into play if you go too far. Imo, tfs heads are far better than holley, you can port twisted wedges to support 1400 hp, holley's can't do that. TFS all the way

my trickflows twisted wedges clear my stock pistons. i would go with trickflow.

It completely depends on the cam. There are tons of stock piston guys running Twisted Wedge heads.

I like the systemax manifold better than the TFS manifolds, but I like the TFS twisted wedge heads over the Holleys.

Our heads will clear the stock piston up to .540" of lift with out fly cutting the piston. It is the only 2.02 valve head on the market that will do this! :bigthumb

Besides im running the edelbrock's on mine,so I wouldnt know to much about the trick flow's.But ive heard good things about them.

Trickflow FTW.

The only thing I didn't like about my trickflow top-end kit is that they do not have steel inserts in the header bolt holes like the edelbrocks and without header studs they are VERY easy to strip out. Thankfully I realized this before ruining them and got a set of ARP header studs.

I think the guy talking about the valve relief issue is with the AFR 185s. As the 2.02s on the trickflow fit with stock pistons.

The TF stage one cam sounds mean and makes great power without all that much driveability loss- above 3K it is like a switch turned on....

and then I added the blower...

I thought windsor Sr heads came with 2.02 - 1.6s and would bolt right up with no clearance problems...but hey I could be wrong!! and yes I know there not aluminum...but there still an aftermarket head!

The only clearance issue Ive had with TFS was when the crank broke. I was running a cam with .4992 lift tho.

I have installed a lot of TW heads with over 540 lift and never had a problem! if your running a stock bottom end this is the way to go for sure! if not I would listen to the guys and go with Twisted Wedge anyway they are the better heads of the ones you mentioned! As far as the kit I would make my own kit! my .02 cent

:wstupid: thats what i got is a sytemax 2 intake,twisted wedge heads and a trickflow stage one cam. and i am satisfied with it. 12.41@109 with a stock bottom end, on drag radials and running out of gear :bigthumb

i need a cold air intake and filter i have a 86 5.0 speed densety car want mass air also and every thing to hook it up and a uper and lower intake a good one and a cam so if any one has what i need hit me up thanks the 50 freak

i would pull an explorer motor and be done with it ... 650.00-700.00 ... 12seclx (curt) is running 12 teens at 110 with this combo and a stock mustang cam ... this combo works ... save your money for lot lizards ...

Although this is a cool chart, don't race flow benches! A flow bench is a tool mainly for developement. Not every flow bench is the same.
