I'm working on my street/strip gt. I'm getting ready to install a short thorw shifter, plenum, throttle body, and tune it. I have already installed bbk long tubes with an off road h pipe, pulleys, cai, and 4:10's. 12.90's is my goal with a n/a gt. and 28 spline axles. This spring will be the test!

A friend of mine went 12.69 with a similar set up, but he did break an axle rather quickly.

What year is the car? Your #1 thing you going to have to do is get some weight out of the car.

I agre. With my friend in the car I think he weighs in between 3100 and 3200. He removed a ton of stuff.

Plus I would run 4.30's instead of 4.10's

4.30's would be optimum but 4.10's will work fine to get into the upper 12's. You should be making somewhere in the 250's for rwhp which will be plenty for upper 12's as well. Getting weight out will be a huge help. Your on the right path, good luck.:bigthumb

The Gt is a 2004. I heard to get these cars to really run you need to keep the rpms way up there. I have seen similar setups in the 12:60's but with 31 splines.

Shoot for shift points right around 5800-6000 rpm. Full bolt-on 2V's make peak power around 5300 rpm. They don't like rpm like the 4V's. I was able to get into the 11.90's with a N/A bolt-on 2001 engine in my 97 GT. High 12's shouldn't be a problem.

I just put the 4:10's in there and did not have the extra cash for the diff. upgrade. It might be in the budget for next year?
