New stang

I am not new to having a mustang, i had a 65 in highschool, a 79, 86, and a 94 , other then the 65 they all had 302's in em, well i am picking up a 2000 gt vert 5 peed on sat. ...and i was just wondering if i am buyin a pos or what..if any of ya have any experiance with that year and motor?

I had a 2000 GT 5 speed. Wish I had it back. I think that was the first year for the bump in HP. I think the 4.6L is rated at 260HP. I recently borrowed a friend's '91 and was not impressed with the power of the car, but it could have just been the fact that is an automatic. I can't stand automatic cars. My 2000 GT was SO much fun! Never had a single problem with the engine or tranny. Just a clutch I killed. My fault, though.

The 4.6l is a different animal than the 302's you are used too. You need to keep the rpm's up if you are getting on it. Never had a vert so i don't know how it would handle versus a coupe but I'd say you should be happy with the handling and ride.
