this is the final fuckin straw. i went there 2 weeks ago, to order a hurst shifter for a t-5, i picked up an autometer gauge, and got a new mech. fuel pump and motor mounts for my 83. they ordered a shifter for a 83 camaro, the water temp gauge was opened, and had no sending unit in it, the fuel pump didnt have a fitting above the feed line for a return line, and they gave me 2 passenger side motor mounts, the drivers side was in the correct box, but it was the wrong part. stupid fuckers with their computers......... i find this out about the motor mounts after i take the car to the mechanic to get them put in (dont have the tools to do it myself, next time i will) so i have all the parts sitting here, and no car because the stupid fuckers have to go by their computers. not really much else i can say but fuck a buncha advance auto parts. so if any of you happen to come down by the ky-tennessee state line and break down, make sure to limp it past franklin, and get into tennesee. you know its bad when you go in there and ask what gear oil goes in a t-5 tranny and they try to sell you automatic tranny fluid, and try to get you to buy a filter for it. rant over

T-5's do use ATF....no filter but they do use ATF
They are still better than Autozone. I order stuff online if at all possible, this way you pick the part number for the "Proper" vehicle with the "Proper" options. That way all they have to do is put the right box in the mail.
Listen to this autozone story.
I ordered a crankshaft repair sleeve and the installation tool. A few days later I receive a small box and a big box. The small box was the installation tool, the large box was 2 Bilstein shocks for a Chevy truck. I emailed them several times to tell them what had happened. When I finally got a response they simply told me that the sleeve was no longer available and thank you. So I kept the shocks and sold them on Ebay and made $100 on the deal. I made several attempts to get it resolved, but they just ignored me. I finally ordered the sleeve through NAPA and had it within a couple days. AutoZone is the worst. Just my opinion.:D

I love advanced auto for buying cheap parts for my daily driver beater honda....especially with the stangbangerz discount. For performance parts in the cincy area...only one place...go see da cracker at Cincy Speed.

well more good news. i went to pick the car up, it still had the origional motor mounts in it. The mechanic told me they had ordered the drivers side back through advance last night and had recieved a transmission mount this morning. so at least i didnt get charged for the labor, but i finally just said fuck it, went to napa, and now have motor mounts on the way friday morning. i double checked to make sure they ordered the right and left.

Like anything it depends on the store and even the people you deal with there. I deal with Jimmy or Johnny in Mt.Orab. I have problems when I dela with anyone else out there. Milford has convinced me not to go there anymore, and I refuse to go to autozone. Alot of times I order parts from rockauto.

Autozone and Advance Auto... even NAPA for that matter are a joke!
Just this week I took an alternator to AZ to get tested. The guy couldn't figure out how to hook it up in the machine. It was a pretty common part off a 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel. Anyway, he hits a few buttons, the test never runs and he says it passes. I know its bad and I am going to buy one anyway. They had a reman for a decent price. This guy pissed me off, so I go across the street to KOI (which we deal with all the time), explain the situation and wind up getting a brand new alternator for $8 less than the reman at AZ.
Bottom line is most of these chain parts houses hire retards! Not just high school kids, but the older folks too! I only went ot AZ because they had the tester. We ALWAYS buy hard parts, specialty parts, etc at KOI and performance parts from Cracka or Ken.

:agree: I work at the Advance in Mt Orab as part driver part counter, and yes, Johnny and Jimmy are the best I think, Jr is very good too...
Btw... Jimmy uses your pen everyday, may need to give him a new one before he wears it out! that man writes a heck of a lot!

IMO its the people working there. Autozone's parts are garbage, and NAPA is just as shitty as the rest anymore as far as quality. I've had nothing but good luck from Advance, but here lately it looks like they're selling cheaper no-name parts. There's always a trade off......quality products with shitty service or vice versa. I miss the old school guys that didn't need a book or a computer to grab what you need.

Axles for a Honda, 30 days before you can exchange then again. I have two Hondas, only bought two axles, figure it out.
AZ axle remans are OK, just the boots like to split every two years.

I try to buy anything i don't need right away from Rockauto.com i also always bring the old part in with me and verify myself that it's the right part. I bought a new alternator from AZ when I first got my car running in June. POS conked out in 30 minutes. Took it back and got another one. That one still works though at night you can see my headlights flicker with the bass beat. So I'm thinking I'll need to get one of those 135 amp models this winter while the car is garaged.

Allright, spradlin is the only place i go to get import axles.Lifetime warrenty and there not reman, their new.And a faily good price. And 02MNGRY you need a capacitor for your subs, unless you have the 60 amp alternator,my buddies t-bird has two 12" Alpine type R's with two alpine amps bridged to mono ohm and his would dim till they about turned off,but since hes got the capacitors in there its good. But some of the RE-RE's at AZ and advanced are only as smart as the computers are.
