My 90 notchback BB project

This has been a on going project for me over the past 2 years or so now.(in the mean time of building everyone else stuff)I found it on racingjunk a few years ago, and have decided to keep this one because of how clean it is.It had 73-79 460 ci 8.5 to 1 cam headers intake roller rockers and some other stuff (but still not what i was told it had in it). All lakewood suspension, all new wheels and tires, etc.I got it home and rewired it front to rear. car ran great and had lots of teething issues along the way.

Cars best in that state was 10.48 at 129 on a 225 shot with a 1.71 60'. after that i had some trans issues and then the motor broke...a few times. :bah:
ended up putting a different motor in it last year with some mixxed results.

this one went 11.16 @ 125 N/a with a 2.0 60'with the tranny slipping badly on the big end(1/8 mile was 111-112mph) :o
so now over this winter im mini-tubbing her and upgrading the rest of the driveline to hold this thing on the bottle and/or maybe some turbos down the road.

notched the frame rails, put some 15x10 weld with a 7 1/2 backspace, with 30 x 10.5 radial slcik on them. set it down too check fit.
ill be running different wheels when im done.

looking more like a cage. got the front out riggers started, still have too trim the bottoms off.

its all tacked in place right now. next is remove the dash, install the dash bar and weld up the joints better then drop it down out of the floor and weld the tops up real good then put it back up in the car and weld it in soild and start fitting the rest of the bars in, im going too replace the head liner and put the upper interior pieces back in before it goes back up in the car...

well got the wiring and dash out, welded the dash bar up. and got my rear pro-style bar fitted, and tached in. Now its ready to drop thru the floor!

well got seat brackets made. welded a bunch of stuff. and fit the tires, coil-overs and the seat one more time. getting started on fitting the front out riggers, and starting on rear of it as well. but heres some more pics!

been ordering trans parts and what not it all apart again, and on hold becuase i have to do thru the floors and a 8 point on a 3rd gen f-body, but then ill be back at the engine bay and body work.

well thats why i over did it on the cage. if i add just a few more bars and the funny car kit it will 25.5 cert. it should fit most nmra class's. thats why i left the stock frame rails in it. but the bb knocks me out of aloy of class's :D

been working my but off on this fire wall and front end. tons of work still to do but im making progress.

started pulling the door panels off and going to start taking the trim off here this week. need to get some stuff to start doing the body work and finish work in the engine bay. need to get this core support done but i got to get a radiator from jegs. which is 155 buck i dont have at the moment. ill find a way

not fun stuff to sand. but i put my small angle ginder on my router controller and put a flap wheel on it and it worked it down to a workable level real fast :lol:

basicly he didnt touch anything, and i did alot of work on his car, for him not to touch mine. but thats all under the bridge now. one i get back to work, and get some money flowing in, i should be ok. but my health issue and being jobless has got me screwed one getting anything done with this. hopefully things turn around.

been a long time since i have updated this forum. but im honestly not on forums much. (local one still has a bad taste in my mouth) but any way!

I have made some progress with this turd bucket in the past year now that certain people are not in my life!

heres some hints. its no longer grey, went back to my 90 nose cause i had a hood and all that for it, so why not? new wheels and 29.5x10.5Ws are all on and got most of the fuel system plumbed etc etc

heres some bs stuff i have done
i added a log on the back of the intake to run the regulators off of, and feed it from both ends. plans are to run e85 once its back to life. since this is high compression and so far not many have found the octane limit on corn since lot of high compression cars have been running it and picking up with just the change over and not adding timing

the 2 empty ports will be feeding the spray system once its all said and done and back on again

mounted the msd box in the glove box so making changes was easy and it was out of site

fixed up the quarter glass with glazing compound and filler primer and flat black(same as on the car) but i hit it with semi clear to give it a shiny flat tone

shit, my focus is on making the business work. im hoping to get to a point where "I'm" not working 16 hour days 6-7 days a week.

few more lifts and the right people and im sure it will happen, just going to take time. this land i have called reynoldshell sucks big donkey cock. will take 2 months to get a sign up, and im limited at that. i have ideas, its just getting them in place. ugh

its tricky. takes some time to get a handle on it. but a do it yourselfer can do it in a garage at home, but it makes a big fucking mess..lol


best bet if doing it yourself, go on dipyourcar.com forum and just read and watch all the youtube videos you can. fonzie has a ton of tricks that he shares.

More or less rubber spray paint that comes in a variety of colors. A lot of people claim it peels off clean and is completely reversible, but really it's impossible to get out of small crevices and I've seen it pull paint off. It can be cool for small things, but I wouldn't ever do it on something I actually cared about or something that I planned to eventually undo.
