so 3rd gear is gone

so im coming home form school this morning and as im hitting 3rd getting onto 75 something goes bang! and something in the drivetrain starts rattling really loud.then i realize that i dont have 3rd gear anymore. what would cause this? it is a stock t-5 with a stock 302. when i bought the tranny i was told it was from a 93 lx v8 car. i guess the tranny is shot?

i dont know what would cause it but yours did the same thing mine did and i guess high rpm shifts takes it toll on the gears i blew third gear right out of mine too can you say tremec next spring

Is this the trans I sold you not too long ago? Sucks to hear if so, I just had that trans gone through by transman on here. Let me know if I can help out with anything.

yep just got it in a couple weeks ago. everything was working fine until today.

Get a hold of transman on here, he definately knew his way around a T-5 and he fit me in with almost no notice. Hate the hear that man.

just happened to me, i broke a tooth off. it happed to 3rd gear too.

Did you have a shifter? T5's are good but the first time you miss a shift you close the window on their lives
