View Full Version : fuel pump not coming on!!

it is a 98 gt the car has been sitting for 4 year's swapping the motor lack funds!! in the spring i got it running but still need some plugs, wires,and battery again lack of money i put it on hold today i put it all in tried to start it nothing just cranking over so i tried starter fluid it starts right up then stalls! check fuel pressure none the pump make no noise! so far i have checked!
reset the red button in the trunk
checked fuse's & relay's all ok
the car has the theft deterant think it could be reject the key code it is the same key i always had,or could the fuel pump just locked up from sitting any help is appreicated! thanks nathan

Nate, the fuel pump relay is in the CCRM module. It's probably sticking smack it a few times with a screwdriver handle.

alan that did not work you can here it clicking when you turn on the key & crank it over!! i guess i will have to drop the tank!! thanks for the help

Test for power out of that before you drop the tank. I hope you have a good service manual. I have a good test light/logic probe you can use.

Try unplugging the fuel cutoff switch....plug back in push and red button down. My brother's car wouldn't start and that's what I did and it worked.

are you getting the theft light on the dash when cranking?

I heard if the car has lost communication with the key. You can turn the key to the ON position and let it sit for about 10 or 15 mins and the computer will relearn the key code. Don't start the car just turn the key to the ON postion. Let me know if this works:bigthumb

it deff a fuel pump jus replace it iv been there many times
