What is everyone using drag radial wise for the street/strip? Name some pros/cons of your tires.

Nittos good wear on the street...not much better than street tires at the track
BFG's Ok wear on the street....decent hook at the track
M/T's wear very fast on the street....hook great at the track

Don't drive in the rain on any of them if possible

I have BFG's and like them a lot. Didn't run them on the street unless to get to the track though. so I have no idea how they would rank on wearing down.....

I use Nitto's but only at the track. I have heard that the Mickey Thompsons are much better for the track but the Nitto's do better on the street. I think for the most part everyone uses Mickey Thompsons at the track. I have heard a lot of people complain about the Nitto's. I personally haven't had any problems with mine(knock on wood). I have been pulling 1.67 -1.74 60FT's on motor when the track hooks decent on my Nitto's. I am going to try the MT's next season though.

I run the MT and like them pretty well. They are even OK in the rain if you are careful. They hook extremely well on a prepped track. I have run better 60s on the DR than on a slick. If you are going to see a lot of street duty in wet conditions the BFGs may be the best choice.

I don't really understand this. Can you explain why a different brand of DR's are better for different transmission types? I've also heard that ANY drag radial isn't very good to use with a stick car, and to just go straight to slicks.

You can run a radial with a stick car but the radials dont like the initial shock that most clutchs have. I ran BFGs with my factory stock car it went 1.59-1.62 60fts I ran MT Radials on the Capri with 1.44 60fts when I ran a real slick on the Capri guess what the 60ft was 1.44ish The only difference the real slick was for me was it was consistant and it could handle a nitrrous hit off the transbrake. The MT radial is a Bad dude< My choice.

had nittos did not like them.. went to mt drag radials. cut the 60ft time by .30 sec. they also make street driving alot more fun... never had either in the rain.. .and dont plan to...

The M/T worked good on my stick car and hooked the same when I switched to the C4 with a brake.

I have M/T's and they drastically improved my 60's...They get my vote....also very quiet and dependable on the road...you barely can tell a difference.
