I hear ya man, i just got a mac h-pipe for my '94 and it doesnt seat well on the headers either, its been about 2 weeks... its drivin me nuts, but atleast when we take it down, i will be able to see where its been leaking due to the black soot that will escape around exhaust leaks...

i havent got to drive mine yet with it...my dad said nope not till its fixed:( i wanted to go for a frive open headers around the block but he said no to that too...(dont know why )....all i hear is a poping from it..dont hear the exhasut......i know its not a problem with the pro chamber...im sure its operator error but dang...i cant catch a break with this think lately

is there any type of exhasut dount i can try to seal my leak?

no there is no kind of gasket and a trick i have found is dont tighten one all the way down work from one to another intell they are all tight then shack the prochamber or h-pipe then go back and tighten then all again then run can for 15 min and tighten then all again and it shouldnt leak anymore and you dont want to run open headers if they are not long tubes since you could suck some cold air on deceleration and bend a valve

Still leaking...better but still leaking...i blame it in the stoch headers ..

so im just gonna get some shorties..( i got a reason to know ;) )..

so what headers will work best with...

Mac prochamber
flowmaster

ill be going to dynomax race bullets in jan. or feb though...so what you think?

MAC shorited be my best bet or?

I found it easier (especially if you're by yourself) to jack up the mid pipe so it's supported by something, so you're not trying to tighten it down while it's hanging down...the weight alone will give you problems in getting it seated right. Next, as mentioned above, tighten each side the same amount back and forth so that the flanges are parallel with each other once they're tightened up. Also try to make sure that the pipes are aligned with each other before and after the flange....so that the ball and socket parts are going straight into and out of eachother. This all sounds like a lot but once you jack up the pro chamber and line it up with the headers it shouldn't be too bad. I've thought about trying my luck with some high temp RTV inside the ball and sockets but i don't know how well it'll hold up. Maybe if all else fails you could try it and see.

Oh yeah, and i'd go with BBK shorty headers....or particularly any header with a solid flange at the head and a ball flange at the collector. Ford Motorsport headers are excellent if you can afford them.

You could try ultra copper RTV, me and a few others on here have used it intsead of the header gaskets on our turbo cars.

That's usually the only RTV i use....i've been wondering about using it as a header gasket as well since MACs don't seal very well to the heads.

Worked great and holds up very well.

where can i get this at? do i just put a generous amount all over the ball and socket as we call them?

(thanks for helping the noob)

Auto Zone should have it in the rtv section. Just put it around the spot of the leak and let it set up for a few minutes then reinstall. The excess will smush out. Then let it set a couple hours before starting so you dont blow it out of the leak spot.

I had that problem on one of my 87's I used to have. I cut the small flange of the end of thr factory h-pipe and used it for a spacer. It worked great b/c it fit perfect on the header and aftermarket h-pipe.
