in june of 2005 i bought my 89 lx hatchback. it had a 4cylinder in it with a 5spd behind it. i drove it like this until the battery died on it and then i started working on it.
it started out like this...

that september i got my hands on a 351W block out of an old UPS truck and had it worked on and got some stuff for it...

my dad and i stripped the block down and took it along with the crank, heads and intake to the machine shop...

in october we got everything back from the machine shop. the motor was bored 60 over after a mix up(explained below). heads and intake were port matched and the crank was balanced.

before that stuff got done i ordered some stuff from summit

swap pan..

i ordered pistons then too, but they didn't come. KB called around then and told me that they were not going to be making the pistons that i had ordered anytime soon. so they sent me a set of 60 over pistons for free and had the other order refunded.

then i got my MAC swap headers and my hpm drop solid motor mounts and we put everything together
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y252/startthesho/gus%20project/Picture031.jpg
then a couple weeks after that we dropped it in the car
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y252/startthesho/gus%20project/P3200034.jpg
we found a guy that knew how to make the wiring harnesses that i needed to get everything going and he helped us with a lot of the stuff after that.
then i got my cobra wheels and my dunlops on the car and my hood(i don't like it that much, but it was fairly cheap)

we got it running on june 3rd/4th in the middle of the night. it was loud so i'm sure my neighbors hated us that night. it sprung an oil leak at the rear main seal so we shut it down and fixed that when we got the rear main seals the following monday. it ran great from then until early this year in march when i blew the t-5 that was in the car showing off for some friends. now i have a brand new tko500 in it.

this fall it is getting primered and a full front suspension done to it. so i will keep this updated as that goes on. thanks for looking

thank you. and i'm guessing you mean the 4-eye? that's my mom's car. it has a sweet paint job. for performance it only has full exhaust and 351 heads on it. but it's not a bad cruising car. here is a shot of it...

and here is a video of my car...
