Do I need to get a tuner to run ford racing shorties? Will I get a CEL without one. I know to get the tru potential I will need one, but I do not have the cash for one. I ran across a set of chrome shorties dirt cheap so I snagged them up. All I have on the car now is a set of slp loudmouth's. I do have a Bassani xpipe and a K&N cai awaiting install, but I know I need a tuner for the cai. It has already given me a CEL before so I took it off.
Thanks for the info,
-Rodney

Don't waste your time with shorties. You will gain ZERO power from them even with tuning. The stock exhaust manifolds are among the best that Ford has ever come out with. The only thing you will get from shorties is a louder exhaust.
