The HACK cut the motor mounts for some stupid reason ... They have since been replaced with a NEW set of solid drop mounts ...

So he done a rollbar driveshaft loop motor mounts battery an fuel line an such? He could've atleast hid ur harness an stuff an not sure bout having fuel line in car. He jacked u up for sure a few things are ruined an not usable like ur mounts an rollbar

Roll Bar was done before he ever saw my car ... He cut off my seat bar for some unknown reason and replaced it with a smaller one and Hacked the shit out of the hoop in the process (He was not hired to touch the roll bar) So why he did it is anyone's guess ...
The drive shaft loop was supposed to be installed by him, But was left in the passenger seat with the tach (Both of which he was supposed to install) But both have since been installed !!!
He did the battery, fuel cell, fuel lines, and wiring (if you can call it that)

Again the motor mounts that he butchered were BRAND NEW Drop Mounts, They also have been Properly replaced with yet another New Set !!!

And yes because of the Fucked Up job he did, I have to Remove and Replace the Roll Bar, Fuel System, Electrical System, And quite a few other things ...

And the fuel line is not ran inside the car anywhere, So I'm not sure what you meant by that ???

I mounted my tach on my 86 Vert in the exact same spot the exact same way. I also had a plastic dash cover that slipped over the top of the dash and hid all the unsightly shit that was under there. Including the screws I used to keep the tach held in place.

I drilled two holes in the dash by the heater controls and used chicago screws threw the dash since they have a some what flat head on them. I also used large flat fender washers on the top of the dash to keep them from beeing pulled through the soft material. Ran the wires right behind the tach right into the back of the dash. Plenty of room. Held the tach in place like a champ. And I could still get to the heater controls.

I also hate the large 5 inch tach right on top of the dash in plain view,right in the damn way.

A little update ... Took the Vert and was able to put it on a lift !!!

We got took the fuel line and battery cables off and drilled new holes and put "Grommets" in all the holes !!! I bet we took 2-3 rolls of that "Professional" electrical tape off of them !!! Put adel clamps to hold the fuel line and battery cables instead of the zip ties ...

Found quite a few more "Hacked" up things while it was on the lift and fixed them ...
The steering shaft had the rods pushed so far in that the joints wouldn't rotate properly, As well as it not being put on to where the set screws are supposed to go as well as them not being tight !!! But now it is fixed and properly installed and no longer hits the headers ...
Also discovered that the Fuel cell vent tube was ran into the frame rail !!! WTF ???
The fuel cell surround is going to have to be completely redone ... There is a 2" gap all the way around it between the original trunk floor and the fabricated surround ... And discovered that he must have used 2 tubes of silicone and then painted over it to make the surround look "Done Right" !!!
The list of "Hacked" up $hit just keeps growing and growing !!!

Adjusted the camber plates to where I can turn it without hitting the fenders ...

Discover that the one wire alternator was wired into the power block, So once the car was running it couldn't be shut off !!!

Got the new oil pan put on, The one on it had an unfortunate meeting with my jack !!! LOL

It's coming along slowly, But she will be ready when the tracks open !!!
It's just a shame that someone would do F#@KED UP work like this and then say it's "Done and Done Right" !!!

But on a Good Note ... We now have it running right to where we can move it around under it's own power !!! LOL

Not much of an update, But I received my New Magnafuel fuel pressure gauge and fuel pressure regulator !!!

The Brand New"Professionally" installed Jegs regualtor and/or Jegs gauge were bad !!!
The gauge would jump to15lbs as soon as the pump was turned on no matter were we adjusted the regulator ... So to be safe I decided to replace both with Quality parts !!! Not saying Jegs is junk, But even I don't always go with the cheapest !!! :lol:

As soon as this weather breaks we can get the New K-Member installed, Then off for exhaust and alignment ...

Well here we go again ... I know the few that are following this build have been awaiting a Positive post, But it just seems I'm being fought at every turn !!!
I thought since I got the fuel pressure regulator and gauge sorted out, And the sun was shining and clear roads that I would take her for a little test drive ...
I managed to make it about 1/2 a mile and up to about 55-60 mph when all of the sudden the car just Locked up !!! Engine stalled, rear wheels locked up and I slid to a stop ... After a minute or 2 sitting in the middle of 161 I managed to get her going again ...
I turned around in the middle of the road and began heading home, I made it back to where I started to begin to slow up to turn off 161 onto my road, When it happened again !!! I was like WTF is going on ??? After getting it started again it wouldn't move in any gear, I put it in neutral and tried pushing it with no luck almost like the brakes were locked ... After about 6-7 minutes of sitting on 151 trying to get it going it finally made a POP and began moving ... I immediately turned in and pulled it in the garage, Jacked it up and began checking things ... I eventually removed the rear end cover, And here is what I found !!!

The wiring and plumbing issues have been fixed as well as the rear end ... Still have trunk/cell area to redo, Cut out and put in new Roll Bar, Remount seats, Exhaust, Shifter, K-member, Alignment, Hook horn back up and put linelock in somewhere else, Hook up Tail and Brakelights, Rewire transbrake to not run through a toggle and then to the button, Reassemble interior and then THOROUGHLY check Everything again to insure nothing was missed and it's Done Right ...
So Not Much !!! LOL

Didn't make much headway lately ...
Got the wheel bearing replaced on the wife's Exploder, To have the 4X4 go out on my Expedition ... So while the Expedition is in getting that fixed and serviced I'm driving my Ram to have it start making a Bad clicking in the rear end ... So thanks to John both the Explorer and Expedition are fixed, And now he gets to do a Ring and Pinion in the Ram !!!
When it Rains it Pours !!! LOL

Yeah stk bolts,I suspect when the rear end locked up and killed the engine it stressed the bolts.well it was actually the nuts got the threads pulled out.it didnt spin a bearing.
Rod knocked the bottom off the cylinder and cracked the block.

That makes sense, or the rod bolt nut just fatigued. Everything has a life expectancy. Just hope this is the last of it.

The motor had about 10 minutes of run time, And the one time it was driven is when the rear end locked up ...
John replaced the gears and rebuilt it, And it was driven on and off the trailer between John's and my garage ... I had pulled it outside and covered it while I finished my garage inside (insulated, Walls done, New 16' door, New side and Storm door) which took about 2 months, And when I started it to put it back it idled for about 20 seconds when it went CHUNK, And put a Big hole in the pan and the oil began pouring ...
I'm going to have to go with the 60 mph, 3000ish rpm sudden lock up of the rear end and killing the motor had something to do with weakening the rod, bolt, nut ...
But what do I know ??? LOL

Stock shortblock with my solid roller heads and exhaust might still get me a 10 ... If Not, Oh Well I can drive it !!! Maybe even make another SBZ cruise after 7 years !!! LOL
