I've been thinking about this all day... they need to get the rules for "factory stock" back to factory stock!

I've looked at the rules this year. A 2V car can run a built shortblock, ported heads, bullitt intake, big cams, and full length headers. Pushrod cars can run the Cobra/GT40 stuff...

Sounds a bit closer to the intent of pure street than "factory stock."

ported heads. I know alot of the success that is showing up right now is they are gettting the car to work. I like what I read somwhere from Ken. " If Steve sets the record twice, that's one extra round we will pick up. F*** 2008, we're racing in 2007 right now."

i will be. but at this rate it may not be much of a break, as they keep penalizing the base weight when steve does well, even though no one runs that combo.

I agree with you. Factory stock ,as in how it come off the factory !! I'd like to see that. When I look at the MD car (Steves car) I sure as heck don't think factory stock. I like the MD car, it looks bitchen and runs like a beast but these cars don't seem factory stock to me.
I guess we could blame NMRA for this one. I'm sure they want to make this class fast,fair and something special that the folks in the stand won't get up and head for the snack bar everytime the class is called to the line.
I just wish my car was this fast...lol
