Is anyone going? Does anyone know the times? I believe thier website says gates at 2, time trials at 3:30, elims at 7:30. Wonder if this is correct? I'm thinking it was about 2 hours from N KY. Does anyone remember anything????

Friday nite got rained out at Muncie. As of 7AM the recording is still Friday's. Their local weather forecast reads...
Today
Mostly cloudy. Chance of thunderstorms until midday... then thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs around 80. South winds up to 10 mph. Chance of thunderstorms 80 percent.
Tonight
Thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds up to 5 mph. Chance of thunderstorms 90 percent.
Doesn't look good, definately call before you go - and on the way!! I'll keep checking and post if anything changes.

It's 8:40, phone message has not changed nor has thier website. Weatherunderground.com local radar for Muncie shows a BUNCH of rain moving across. I'm not loading the car yet. My money is on it being called off.

They will not race today...you don't need to load it.

Gates don't open until 2:30 usually...they are burying the track announcer today. His funeral is at 10:00am in Muncie. He was a really good friend and they won't be changing the message until later. I just wouldn't plan on racing...I am not and I race there every week.

It would be nice to have "official" word... They should have someone up there to change the message/website for those of us who have a few hours of driving ahead of us.
If I don't load the car yet, they will not cancel and we will have to rush last minute to get everything ready...
If I do load the car and get everything ready, they will cancel...
Maybe I should just load the car ??

Jus load it halfway and wait. I am sure they will have someone out there to update the message right after they finish burying their friend :dummy:

Just got off the phone w/ Karl. He had talked to Roger a few minutes ago. He had not been back to check the radar at that point. All indications were that it is a GO. We're putting the pig on the trailer and heading up. We will of course be calling the track along the way several times to make sure. I jotted all of these numbers down so if I find that it's not going to happen. I'll call everyone as well. Good luck!

I guess we're heading up. Talked to the track guy as well, he said there is no rain, just back in Illinois.

We got there in time for the first time run... after that the clouds opened up and poured on us... It was no fun loading the car up in the rain... and it made for a rather uncomfortable and very wet ride home. We just got in, took about two hours drive time to get home.

Well Jeff, how was that for a clustrf**k?"
Nice going for all you guys in the top 10 to vote not to make up the race! I get called away for 5 minutes and the decision was made. Pooey on all of you. Although, in your shoes I would have done the same thing. Way to hold your points positions! I just wish I would get screwed once and come out with a smile on my face. Won't someone at least offer me a cigarette?
I'm really not upset, just a shitty end to a shitty week. Oh wait, there's still tomorrow.....

09-08-2007, 10:16 PM
Made for a rather wet ride home. Five minutes, would have a huge difference.
There was no way I driving back up there again. Besides, I have wedding to go to in two weeks.
Cathy, one vote to make it up would not have changed the outcome I think. At least you got 3 points for just being there, like the rest of us.

I know it just sucks. My week went straight to crap after Wednesday evening and I was really looking forward to today, so I'm just bummed. I thought Karl said we could do E2o?

I have to admit it, I kind of dig the muncie track. It had that old time 60's cool drag race feel to it. (That track is old I know) ... It's a bumpy scary ride down the track but it's fun....Would I drive back? HELL NO !!! I'll take the damn 3 points or whatever they end up giving us..... It was good seeing all of you up there.Kathy,Kathy, Gene,Dan Don Hayward,Kurt Brian,Jeff Thanks for hanging out with us Jeff, Kurt Kathy . We stopped for dinner on the way home "The Pizza King "was ok I guess... We should have held out for steak. !!

Yeah, I probably shouldn't either! I'm proud of you Billy for not commenting. It wasn't so much Muncie as just my mood that brought the day down. Spoke to Curt several times on the phone earlier but arrived there and never got to see him (thru the rain drops!) Sorry about that Curt.
Time to move on! Maybe I'll go shoot something today!!
Have a great day guys.

Continued bullsh*t from Muncie, even a month afterwards. Seems even though Karl stood in front of all of us in attendance at the drivers meeting and said we would get the 3 points, he has changed his mind (or lost it). Apparently you can't or shouldn't give those points if it wasn't an "official" race. We only got one time run in before the rain came so it doesn't count. I understand rules are rules, but don't say one thing and do another. I'm with Billy on this one, I don't think I'll go back to Muncie next year, points race or not. At this stage I could do w/o UMTR crap also, but I'm sure I'll calm down on that note and finish the season.
If it ain't one thing it's another!
bobtsgt
10-01-2007, 04:33 PM
damn momma that sucks. mabey the rules will change next year
ponymom05
10-01-2007, 05:17 PM
Yeah, I'm just a disgruntled racer. You should read the garbage somebody named Scott is posting on the UMTR forum about it. He says the street stick guys are crying about it and the Power shift guys are not - they are more mature I guess  I tried to tell him I wasn't cryin' I was bitchin' but that selective hearing must have kicked in!! Oh well, I'm done bitchin'. Nothing I can do about it anyway. F it.
bobtsgt
10-01-2007, 09:30 PM
well I guess we should all be in the Power shift then  that way both sides will bitch equally

I have not been back to that site since it came back. I have no need to get on there with those guys. All it is a bunch of "mine is better" stuff and whinning about us mustang people. Only thing I have to say to those guys is......it must be a ton of fun with their trailer queens and garage whores. Personally I like the ability to race mine then drive it to the grocery store. And not walk out to my garage and look at 30k worth of something I get to enjoy for an hour a week for a few months out of the year. But to eaches own. Damn Cathy now you got me fired up again!! F^#k Muncie!!!!!!
ponymom05
10-01-2007, 11:39 PM
Sorry guy, didn't mean to stir your pot! Funny you mention the grocery getter - that's exactly where I went in mine tonite. You must be psycho...er I meant psychic! Fudge it, I'm still gonna run on the 13th. I must retain my crown as Queen of 1RLC. :D

What? With 2 stangs you're bowing out??? Say it ain't so, Curt!!
jlt2006
10-02-2007, 04:45 PM
I agree with PonyMom, Curt say it isn't so.
The whole crap thing about Muncie bites. But I did want to spend another trip up there, and yes it would have been cool to have the make up at E2o. But now, hind sight is 20/20. Maybe we should just drop Muncie from the schedule.
I am looking forward to the last race. And those people up north, well let them say what they want and I agree with it being nice to drive my race car to the track and drive when I want.
