Anybody going?
Yep. A buddy of mine lives in a condo downtown, so we're going to hang out there drinking and then go up on the roof to watch the fireworks away from the riff-raff down below. :D

Are you going to be at the WEBN party?
Unfortunately, those of us on the AM side don't rank high enough to get in. :(

I'm not sure. They called the shop a few weeks ago and wanted one of our cars to be in a video for some competition with Wildman and a couple guys from the night crew(Fritz and Meat). The video is on WEBN.com.. So they sent me with the Charger. They called back and wanted some of our cars to drive their employees and showcase the cars down there..Our big GMAX will be down there also. This is one big fugger. It holds about 46 people....

Watched them at a friends house on their projector. Killer surround, great big view and no traffic/people to deal with! :bigthumb

Yeah the fireworks were the place to be...if you like being in the middle of 100,000 retards. I stayed home this year...didn't even bother watching them on tv.

Pussies. I swear, the " I can't deal with the crowd" comments are so pathetic. That's a pet peeve of mine. People throw that out all the time and it's not an issue on the Ohio side. Ky traffic sucks after the show, I'll give you that.
I've been down there every year except when I moved in my house on that day three years ago. My Dad has been to all 31 shows. I've seen it from the floodwall in KY, from the serpentine wall in OH, from a houseboat on the river, from the old central bridge, and from the 471 bridge.
How bad is it really? My Dad and I left our house at 7:25. Parked at Music Hall as usual for $1.50. We could have found a free spot on the street if we had looked for a few minutes. Walked down, got to the top center of the wall, watched some people start though the crowd and followed them in. Ended up 3 steps down on the wall with a perfect view of everthing. No smoke, no ashes, loud as HELL. Fireworks ended, walked back to the car. Pulled out of Music Hall, turned right, turned left, turned right again and hit I-75N to RR west. We were home before 10:30pm even though the fireworks went past 9:30 and we walked a good 20 minutes after they were over. I never took it out of fifth gear once we hit the highway, trafiic was moving fine.
Another data point. A guy with his 5 year old daughter managed to get down on the wall next to us about 20 minutes before the show, he said he didn't even leave home until 8:30. You don't have to sit down there for 12 hours to get a great seat. We actually had a seat too, most times you have to stand.
I watched it on TV when I got home (DVR) and it sucked as usual. They missed all the cool stuff since the cameras can't pan and zoom fast enough, the colors suck SO bad, and the sound is like "pop" "pop" "pop". The only good thing on TV is you can actually hear the songs clearly and how they are synched to the show. It's so loud on the wall you don't hear much of the radio simulcast. Watching it on TV vs. seeing it in person is like watching a porno vs having sex.

yeah...the crowd still sucks!! I could think of alot more things to do other than fighting through huge crowds just to watch some fireworks...but hey..that's just me!

We were on the river. Took 4 hours for a 2 hour boat ride. Lost a water pump in one of the motors. Had to baby it back at 7 MPH. Was still fun though. If it wasn't for the water pump would have been the same 2 hour ride as always.
