I love that show...but they are really misinformed about America and especially about American cars. For example....he thinks that's the same 5.4 that you get in the Ford GT...yeah except for the GT has a whole slew of different parts including a dry sump oiling system.

I'd LOVE to hear them do a show on the Fox era Mustangs...

British folks are just generally sour towards America because we beat their asses and gained independence from them and now we're the biggest and most powerful nation in the world.

Thats funny. This wheenie has a show on the speed channel where they test 3 and 400,000 dollar cars. I thought it was funny how much he liked our American dash boards.
I have to admit Ford could do a better job and slapping crap together. Can you imagine if he was driving a fox body Mustang ? I can honestly say they are probably one of the worst built cars I have ever seen or driven....as far as quality goes anyways . But they are fun to drive ,because they have that loose and ready eat it feeling...Love it....

As for this guy F.O.M.F. ya damn limey !

It's even funnier that he owns and is obsessed with the Ford GT...so he's sort of a hypocrite.

He just got rid of his GT to pick up a Gallardo vert.

I do believe that's my favorite show on the planet. Who really cares what he says about American cars? Honestly, they're so much lower tech than must foreign cars, it's almost embarassing.

Yes, lots of American cars perform better than foreign cars, but they do it with live-axles, and pushrod motors. I like live axle cars and pushrod motors just as much as any of the rest of you, but if you actually drove a comparable M3, or Boxster, or even a VW GTI R32, you'd see why he rips on American cars so badly. Granted none of the above mentioned cars would be within a second or two of a lot of our cars in the quarter mile, but as a sports car to drive every day in whether it be on dry roads or in the snow, rain, mud, or pothole-laden roads, it's almost no comparison.

Yes but the gt he owns fucking broke like 10 times in a row before he got to driv it more than one day at a shot.

I have no problem with him, I think he is funny. You gotta keep in mine the quality of the things he drives every day then they stick him in some of the crap we make and expect him to like it.

Bah, that guys is just doing what he gets paid to do...be a pompous asshole. Sometimes I think he's funny and right on. Other times I'm mildly offended and end up wondering why.
All I know is, I've hand my hands on alot of different makes and models and as far as quality goes, not many are any better than the next. I mean you might have one car that has something nicer than its competitor, and vice versa. There's always a trade off. I've seen high dollar rolls royces leave big wet spots on the showroom floor and do well to get 6 miles to the gallon. Ive seen 250,000 dollar Lamborghinis with 5000 miles on them come back on rollbacks with bad engines and the bodies shaking apart. And on the flipside, I've seen shitbox dodge trucks come back with 572,000 miles on the original engine and the body hanging together with duct tape. The biggest difference between a cheap car and an expensive one is how much you pay for it....thats it. Some people like to spend 5 grand on a car, some dumbasses like to spend 500 grand on a car. I think they're all junk, but I'm the poor bastard who has to fix them for a living. I will say this, the rest of the world's bitterness towards us is nothing more than a glorified form of penis envy. That dude can say what he wants, but there must be a damn good reason they sell a million trucks a year. Must be doing something right....

While I understand that is what he is getting paid to do (being sarcastic and causing trouble), he at least better get his facts straight. 1) Not the same motor as the GT as stated earlier, 2) I don't think the Lightning comes right hand drive from the manufacturer, so the fit and finish would be the aftermarket conversion company's fault, not Ford's. That would also be the cause of the sloppy steering if I'm not mistaken since all the linkages had to be redone.
I feel bad for the English if all they have to do is shop for bread in their spare time. lol.

It's easy to be jaded about a pickup truck when you've driven all those high end supercars.

I agree with you about there cars being far mor advanced than ours, and i don't really care what he says about American cars, however i think his comment about Americans and what we do VS what they do" mostly incest" that was bit much. He sucks:flipoff::flipoff: . What a goofball.

He likes picking on Americans, but we like picking on the British too. He kids about the incest thing semi-regularly, but he also rips on the Germans and French as well.

That show cracks me up like no other though.

I hate working on Mercedes and BMWs. As a rule, german cars are pretty much junk. The commonly accepted strategy among most automotive service people I know is, if you're gonna keep it stock and sell it when the warranty is up, German cars are great!

I think some of the best all around cars made are the Corvette, M3, and 911. I'd love to buy one of them, but every time I get close I remember that mods are rediculously expensive and maintenance would kill me if I kept it for long.

Let look at this in perspective folks.

1. They have the greatest TV show on the planet. (which just started an new season last week on BBC America)

2. They drive the piss out of the greatest exotics on a daily basis. And not just your run of the mill Ferraris, or Lambos, Jags, Mercedes, BMWs, but they regualarly drive Koenigseggs, Zondas, Bugattis, etc.
I think I would be under the impression that American cars suck aswell if I were driving those things everyday.

And look at what they get to do with them.
