anyone got one of these laying around. i will even take a full steering wheel from same year car for just the horn button.

I got one and it was the same way. The issue with these things are they use foam to separate the positive form the negative copper plates. And with 20+ years of aging the foam breaks down. I separated the two halves, and bought some simple foam tape from lowes (for insulated doors windows etc) and made my own spacer after removing all that old foam crap left behind. works great
