I use to own a couple jeeps. I'd like to get another one someday. What I'd really like to have is an early Bronco. If I ever get a scanner I'll post up some pics. I had a 79 CJ5 w/ a 350 and a 78 CJ5 w/ a glass tub and AMC 390 that was a monster.
i have a 95 Yj that has 33's and just 4" lift....planning on dana 60 rear, 44 front full widths with spring over and cummins 4BT swap soon though...
here is my baby...the XJ's were previos ones.

I had a '90 I sold a couple of years ago. I would love to get another one though! It was just a 4cyl with a 3" body lift and 31" tires. Nothing fancy but it would go anywhere!

I just saw a newer 2005 + or - a year, Grand Cherokee with a 4" lift in Amelia the other day.... it looked nice. I wanted to get a Rubicon a couple of years ago, I love the way they look!

Man i would highly advise against that....i almost traded my Bronco II for one and when i test drove it...it was like driving a shopping cart with an engine, it wouldn't go 60mph, manual steering felt like i was trying to turn a tree log to steer with...it shifted like rowing a metal pipe through a bucket of gravel.....it was just a crappy experience. I'd definitely say get a Wrangler or maybe a Tacoma or something else...anything but a Samurai.

sami's are awsome, ive got a few and their defently the best bang for the buck, they just take some time to get used to,best thing is that they hardly ever brake.

Ive saw sami's go places that a jeep tryed to it was pretty funny and then the fact the sami had to pull the jeep outta the woods they was in lol!

I had a 85 bronco 2 with a 4" lift and 31x10.50's. I was just a 2.8 6 cyl. 5 speed with no power but that thing would go everywhere I took it. I broke the trans. and had the most expensive one and the hardest to find out of two they put in em. So I ended up selling it and just driving my mustang. :)
I do miss that old truck and the 4wheelin. :(

Only if I can then trade the Cherokee for a TJ with a 4.0 in it. ;)
I worked a deal with my old 99 Grand Cherokee Laredo in a trade for my '97 TJ SE, a new top, and a lil cash back in May.
I LOVE my TJ, but I do wish it was a 4.0.....this thing's a dog on 31's. :(
I want a 4-5" lift and 35's. :D
I'll either end up driving this for a few years and getting something else to drive every day then doing an engine/tranny/axle swap in it or I'll upgrade to a newer TJ with a 4.0 in it. :bigthumb

Eeeeew never mind...i wouldn't own a Jeep that isn't a 4.0. Big tires require torque...and the 4.0 barely has enough as it is although it is pretty damn good for what it is.

Yeah, it's only a lil 2.5L 4cyl. It's not bad....but still. Basically when Jeep designed the engines the 4cyl is litterally 2/3 of the engine that the 6 cyl is.....same everything, just 2 cyl's shorter. It's decent for what it is, but I need more torque.
It is geared stock with 4.10's front and rear, but I'd need 4.88's to run a 33" tire with the 2.5L and it's not worth it with the stock D-30 and D-35 axles.
SO, either I do an engine/tranny/t-case/axle swap with a bigger lift and bigger tires, or I find a better platform to start with.;)

I've seriously been thinking about it. ;)
Although, the GM 350 is the more common swap. :dunno:
Hell, I don't care....the torque of a V-8 in a Jeep is good either way whether it's GM or Ford powered.

I've got a buddy who's about to drop a 390 in his....the engine is already in an old CJ5 and it's NAAASTY...it'll almost pull the front wheels off the ground.

Ive been looking into doing a late model HEMI swap. Ive seen a few of them out there.
