I've yet to try one of Johns engines (we'll see how long my current one lasts) but I've dealt w/ John on a few other things and he is a straight up guy. I would not hesitate to do business with him again.

What kind of power should one expect from a 545?

ive done a few setups with a 545 and the tfs street heads flow 350cfm outta the box and a decent solid roller easily over 700hp and over 600lbs trq no power adder all motor
my own 545 with tfs A460 style heads 430cfm outta the box and a BIG solid roller will make 900+ on the motor. mines still a work in progress, ill post some pics when i get it farther along.

That'd be great for the jetboat, when the olds 403 fails, I'll be giving you a call.

i might be interested once i get into my project a little further.
2 questions
do you know the breaking point of these blocks?hp limits?
how much for one built to handle a decent amount of boost?
Thanks

the stock blocks can handle a lot! of hp,erica ortiz ran a stock block turbo setup ffw with a cast crank in the 1200-1300 hp zone.
i know one guy who ran a 10-71blower alcohol injected making 1500hp with a stock block.in a funny car.
most important thing is the tune ,no detonation is the key.
i personally only recommend 750-800 hp with a cast crank, although some make more.
i have forged cranks avail as an upgrade for a little more and they are good for 1500hp .
also upgraded rodbolts avail.
i can add 4bolt mains for extra too,and can do custom pistons.
my personal motor will be in the 900hp and a 250-350 shot ,im runnin a forged crank to be safe.
if you have any more questions feel free to ask
and if anybody needs one hit me up.

This is probably a stupid question but would something that nasty be streetable?

yes the combos are streetable,700+hp and streetable, the big factor is the solid roller, a good street roller which is easy on the valvesprings or a good sized solid flat tappet is perfectly streetable.
now mine is a big roller 289-312@.050 and 824lift kinda hard on the valvetrain, and diff heads and isnt really streetable, but ill bring it out on the street a couple times im sure.

bbfstanger,
I hate to do this to ya, but in order to sell parts and/or services on the board you need to be a SBZ Vendor. I can't allow you to sell things when we have vendors paying to do the same thing.
PM me if you're interested.
Thanks,
Matt.
