88 GT Vert parts car

I am going to start the stripping of my 88 GT vert Monday. I am going to blast all the bolts with penetrating oil and start taking it apart. If anyone needs anything, just let me know in this thread and I will see what I can do.
Details: 88 GT Vert, no drive train, no driver's side door, no driver's side seat, no rear end, spindles and struts are spoken for. The nose bumper cover is spoken for.
All other parts are there if you all need them. Top mechanics, carpet, dash, windshield(you remove), all interior trim, wires, fuel lines, gas tank, etc..
My plan is to strip it to the bone and scrap it for weight because I do not have a title for it and can't get one.

Well, This afternoon My Mom got a notice from the city of fort wright that I must move "the car under the tarp". Kind of funny since I decided to start stripping it just yesterday. I have 30 days to comply or get fined.
I am dog tired right now and am going home to relax with my 1 dog, 2 cats, and 3 kids. I may be back down tonight to bust some knuckles on the vert. I will try to get a few pics of what is left. If you all need anything, just let me know. I am not looking to get rich on this thing. I just need it gone.

Interior is grey. Dash, panels carpet. Most are in good shape. I may use the door panel on the pile though.

If no one really NEEDS the tail lights, I am going to put them on the pile. Better than the broken ones on there now.

I may be at my shop on Thursday after work to start strippin my vert. It will be later on around 7:00 or so but Iam going to start no matter what. I will try to get the parts requested out first. Then all the other usable stuff. Once I get it stripped, the hulk is going to River Metals for scrap.
If anyone needs some parts cheap from this 88 GT Vert, let me know.

Hey Keith, how is the trunk lid? also does it have the headlight switch with the foglight switch in it? (should being a GT) if so, is it broken to where it doesnt quite stay in well?

The trunk lid is in good shape. It had a battery cut off switch mounted in it so there is a hole. The luggage rack is perfect though. As far as the fog light switch, I think it stays in pretty well. If you need it, come take a look.

Woo Hoo. I am working on it as I type this. I got the pass quarter window out and all mechinisms and motor, The mirror switch control, The dash, the rear covers where the speakers go, the trunk lid off, back to work now..

Got more stuff off. Driver's side quarter window, motor, and mechanics, multi function switch, molding from top outer passenger door, working on GT ground effects, working on tail lights too since no trunk lid makes it nice.

Well, just wrapped the vert up in it's silver cover and am calling it a day. Got the clutch/brake pedal assembly out, loosened the front end trying to remove it as one peice. Almost got it off. Took a lot of the trim off around the windshield, Got the passenger door glass, motor and mech out. Wiring too. Steering column is out and the under brace for the dash. Tail lights are gone, this thing is almost ready for the crusher. Will get Tim's parts off soon and still need to get gas tank, fuel lines and what ever under the hood.

Sure. When do you want to stop by and pick it up? We took it out as a complete unit only unpluging stuff. Not cutting anything. Will that work?

I am going to be here at my shop this afternoon working on the vert. I am planning on getting the gas tank and fuel lines off and everything else off that I may be able to use on the coupe. I got the gas tank out tonight and Kevin stopped by so we picked the tank up to move it out of sight. Well, I was holding the side with the openings and the tank got tipped too far and I got 2 gallons of gas, old gas, dumped all over me. From my johnson to my shoes. Damn that stuff burns. Not fire, but chemically. I pitched my shoes and socks, my shorts are still at the shop soaking. I went to payless for some new shoes.
Went home and took a long shower.
Believe it or not, no beer was involved. Kevin took a pic of me hosing my legs off. He will probably do a rant on this.

Well, the vert is on the trailer!! I still need to get a few things off it but I am ready to get rid of this thing. Hopefully it will go to river metals early next week. To all who got parts thanks, To all who still need to get them, COME GET THEM!!!!.

I think I have stripped the vert of all it's useful stuff. All the parts that you have all wanted, I am storing in a shed behind my building. I am now filling the vert hulk with as much metal stuff from the shop that we do not need in the hope of making it heavier so I will get more for the scrap. I will let you all know how it goes.

Just looked at the one in the vert. It is ripped up pretty good. I will look at the one in the pile tomorrow and in that one is good, it is yours.

By the way, stangman, Jesse and Rick85gt, Rick are here at my shop trying to cut the front frame rails off the vert. It looks like they are making some progress. They only have like 5 discs though.

Well, dooms day is set for my vert. 2 days from today on Wednsday around 2:00 to 3:00 the vert is going to the crusher. Jesse and Rick are coming down tonight and finish taking off the front frame rails. I think that about does it. There are probably going to be a few people asking for stuff after dooms day so sorry about your luck. Thanks to all who stopped down, talked for a few, and got that part you have always been looking for.

Well, the vert is gone!!!! I took it to river metals this morning and they picked it up with the claw and put it right on the shredder. It crumpled pretty good when they grabbed it and I could not get my cell phone camera up to take a pic. I filled it with all kinds of metal from the shop and wound up getting 89.00 for it.
I am happy, and hopefully the city is happy it is gone.
