If anyone is attending this event - R U thinking of going up the night before? Post up if you are interested. I believe I am going to go up and get a room, possibly even for Friday and Saturday.
Track recommends the LaQuinta Inn - 8 miles from the track, about $79 a night for a double or Red Roof Inn just 2 miles away for $67 a night for a double. I see the NMRA group last year used Amerihost Inn. I know there is a nice Holiday Inn Express in Heath, not too far away. If anyone is interested, I can check into better prices, etc. The Red Roof Inn sounds best to me so far.
BTW - this IS a points race!

I don't think I am going to make it. To far away with the shape my car is in. Plus I am WAY out of the points race.

Yeah, I agree with being out of the points race, it figures my son went 4 rounds last night and he's not a member!! I got the 1st round losers curse again, 5 little teeny-tiny points. Too bad I couldn't have his points as car owner   But we still have to represent the South!! Sorry you can't make it, hopefully we'll see you at E2o.

I am the President of the "First Round Losers Club" It is a pretty elite club only select members can make it in.....:D

I spoke to a lady at the Red Roof Inn, she gave me a name of a man I can call in the morning to reserve a block of rooms. Right now best price is the "Red Hot Deal" online at 60.49 plus tax. She says he may do better than that by a few dollars. Who wants a room? So far I have Kris, Jeff, Cathy, Ron, Craig(?).

Do you need a room for Friday night? According to National Trails web page Saturday racing - gates open at 8AM, qualifying starts at 8:45, Elims at 2PM
Too damn early for me to drive that far like we did to Indy, I'm going up Friday night!

it's a long haul up there... It'll probably come down to a few factors
for me.... I'm out of the points race but looking to be a thorn in
someones side... :nono: Ha Ha!!!

RRI won't reserve a block of rooms during the summer months. However, they do currently have "many" rooms available. You can get the best price by reserving online.

Choose Red Hot Deals, you want Inn #587, yesterday the deal was $60.49. Today I reserved 3 rooms at $54.99 each (plus 10% tax).

I want to get my Dad out so I have been thinking about taking him watching, but do you have any idea what the turn out will be? Even a ball park guess of how many cars will be running?

me and Doug were thinking of leaving around 5 AM from Eastgate/Batavia.... We should be on 275/71 by 5:30 AM...... I guess we could all meet up at the 1st rest stop past Kings island... We usually stop at the Xenia exitst rt 35 and eat at McDonalds then we haul ass to columbus !!

as of right now I am probably not going to make it. I am going to e20 for some testing tomm. night. It's a long haul with no trailer for the setup I'm trying. It will either run real good or break real fast.
