I was reading my 5.0 mag and it suggested to check to see if the heater core is bypassed when buying one. Well this never struck me untill I read it and I was looking in my mustang and it's bypassed. Why could this be?
Are these notorious for going bad or what? how hard to replace it? any help would be great.

Its not bad. I have done a ton of them. you take out the console, take all the bolt/screws out of the dash and slide it back. Take the nut that holds the dryer for the a/c to the firewall and the two 10mm nuts on the firewall to let the heated box slide out to get to the 8mm screw holding the cover to the core down. Im sure I missed a step or two but you will get the picture when you do it.
